Married at First Sight Australia 2023‘s Lyndall Grace has shut down 2022 bride Ella Ding‘s claims that practising “mindfulness” can cure terminal illness.

ICYMI: Following a recent episode of her podcast, Sit With Us, fans criticised Ella for sharing unsubstantiated, “dangerous” sentiments about how mindset can alter your health.

Now, Lyndall, who suffers from cystic fibrosis — a life-threatening disorder that damages the lungs and digestive system — has rubbished Ella’s comments in a tense Instagram Story.

“Obviously, being on the internet is hard sometimes and you see things that make you really, really angry,” she started.

“I just wanted to quickly say… If anything you ever consume on the internet or otherwise in your life tells you that your illness, that your disease, that your condition, that your disability, that your problems are because you don’t have the right mindset, please ignore them.”

Visibly distressed, Lyndall continued: “Listen to your doctors. It is not your fault, it is not your choice, and it will not change.

“Having anything like that will never be because you weren’t positive enough. It will never be because you didn’t meditate enough, or you didn’t exercise enough or that you didn’t do any of those things.”

She concluded: “Chronic illnesses and disabilities are so much more than that. Ignore it.” Mic drop!

Married at First Sight‘s Lyndall Grace says illness isn’t a ‘punishment’ for having poor mindset

Captioning the Story, Lyndall told her followers that they are “enough” and are “doing enough” regarding their ill health.

“These things [mindfulness, meditation] are TOOLS to HELP you mitigate your anxieties and your feelings around your conditions,” she penned. “They are not cures.

“You are not being punished for not being happy enough.”

Fans call for Ella Ding and Domenica Calarco to be ‘cancelled’

After Lyndall’s sentiments were shared to So Dramatic!‘s Instagram page, the comment section was flooded with followers sharing their dismay at the commentary on Sit With Us.

“What they preach is absolute bullsh*t,” one fan who has “dealt with cancer and illness” wrote.

“They NEED TO BE CANCELLED.”

Another wrote: “This is disgusting. Ella and Dom practice awareness and respect. I can’t imagine someone out there fighting for their life hearing this absolute train wreck of ‘advice’ we didn’t ask for.

“You have no idea what someone is fighting, please kindly quit social media or just do better!”

A third follower said Ella’s suggestions are “really unacceptable” and that she and Domenica “should be called for spreading misinformation”.

A number of other Instagram users expressed that the MAFS brides’ comments were “horrific”, having had loved ones suffering from cancer, or having battled the illness themselves.

In the Sit With Us episode — titled “Practising Gratitude” — that dropped on July 5, Ella claimed that “your mind can kill you”.

“It can make you sick,” Ella said. “If you’re sick in whatever way it may be, whether it’s with illness, if you have cancer, or if you have depression, you can literally make yourself sicker by focussing on how sick you are.

“You can then end up terminally ill.”

She then referred to Dr Joe Dispenza, a chiropractic doctor and well-known lecturer on neuroscience and quantum physics.

“If you are unwell, whether it be terminal or not, read Dr Joe Dispenza’s book, How To Rewire Your Brain [sic],” Ella noted, before alleging he has “hundreds of case studies of people who were sick with cancer”.

“He literally trained them to just imagine not being sick, imagine the cancer is leaving your body, imagine the cells are going away… He’s literally cured patients without chemotherapy.”
