Turns out Married at First Sight Australia 2019‘s Mick Gould and The Bachelor 2018‘s Kayla Gray‘s shock split was kinda messy AF.
ICYMI: Mick was paired with Jessika Power during the 2019 experiment and we all know how that ended. Shortly after the show, he started dating fellow reality star Kayla and all seemed to be going swimmingly.
That is, until Mick debuted his girlfriend Crystal on June 24, much to the confusion of fans.
When asked for clarification that he and Kayla had broken up, the Gympie-based plasterer simply said: “Surprise!”
And surprise, indeed!
Luckily, a source close to Kayla soon reached out to us to spill some serious intel about what happened between the two reality stars, who were together for four years.

“Kayla was moving back to South Australia to look after her grandmother who had dementia,” the friend explained. “It was to be for one year.
“It was all discussed with Mick and all agreed on and yadda, yadda, yadda. Supportive partner. Great.”
However, just two weeks after Kayla returned to her home state, she received a bombshell text from her bae, which was provided to So Dramatic!.
“Hey Kayla. I can’t do this long distance no more,” the message from Mick started. “Better to end it early than drag on for ages.
“I think you knew this was coming when you moved. I don’t wanna leave this area and you dislike it here. It’s gonna be easier to call it now.”
Mick went on to say that their relationship was “a good time” and he doesn’t “regret anything”. However, he confessed that “the last couple of months have made this decision easier”.
“I feel bad sending a text but I don’t wanna hear you crying cause [sic] I may start. Call ya in a few days.” BRUTAL.

It somehow got worse, though, with the insider explaining that the text was sent on November 20, 2022.
“Then the same effing day, old mate reactivates his Tinder,” they wrote alongside a timestamped screenshot.
“So, clearly, he wanted to break up but didn’t wanna do it like an effing man so waits until she is off looking after her granny to drop an SMS like they have been casually seeing each other and not in some committed relationship for 4 years where she gave up her career and moved to bumf*ck nowhere to be with him.”
The friend added that Kayla worked hard to help Mick on his farm during COVID and during “massive floods which decimated things”.
“Thankfully she is in the best place possible now and living her greatest life and knows she dodged a bullet!” they concluded. “But yeah, sh*thouse behaviour Mr Gould!” LOL, we love a supportive friend!

After news broke that Mick and Kayla had parted ways, an anonymous user made a post in the infamous “Tea Time” Facebook group about their romance.
It read: “My friend Kayla who was on the Honey Badger‘s season of The Bachelor started dating Mick from MAFS.
“She moved to Gympie for him and found herself feeling isolated in the town, nobody was nice to her, his parents were not nice to her and even he would treat her like sh*t.”
They claimed Mick would often “message other girls” behind Kayla’s back, while expecting her to “cook and clean after she finished work and he did nothing”.
“I met him once and all he did was brag about MAFS and talk himself up, did not care about Kayla at all,” the user wrote.
As reported in episode 303 of the So Dramatic! podcast, we asked our source about these claims, who then forwarded us a response from Kayla herself.
She said the post was made by an overprotective friend who “hates Mick”.
“His parents were actually nice to me so that’s not true,” she clarified. “I think my friend got carried away but everything else is true.”
She then reiterated that had “moved back to [her] hometown” to care for her grandmother.
“[I also] got a good job offer down here that I couldn’t get in Gympie,” Kayla added.
