Married at First Sight Australia 2023‘s Jesse Burford has addressed a recent Instagram Story in which he brandished guns with several friends.
From being a Perth-based marriage celebrant to a bonafide reality TV star, Jesse’s rise to fame has been a rollercoaster, to say the least.
Now, off the back of his controversial MAFS relo with Claire Nomarhas, a recent Instagram Story from the 30-year-old has left fans scratching their heads.
On June 19, the Western Australian shared a video of himself and three friends dancing while holding what appeared to be weapons.
Jesse and two of his companions brandished guns, while the third mate wove around a knife, all to the tune of Cotton Eyed Joe by Rednex.
The same clip was shared four more times with different songs. These included the Pokémon theme, Up by Cardi B, Stayin’ Alive by the Bee Gees, and Strawberry Kisses by Nikki Webster.
When contacted by So Dramatic! to question whether the guns were real, Jesse replied with a photo of his biceps, writing: “These ones are.”

Jesse’s controversial Instagram Stories come after Claire roasted him in a MAFS bride group chat.
While the groom has publicly exposed Claire for a bunch of questionable sh*t, it appears the early childhood educator has opted to keep things to a private forum. For now, at least.
As reported in episode 289 of the So Dramatic! podcast, host Megan Pustetto obtained a series of messages sent by Claire to a MAFS group chat.
In the texts, the 27-year-old appears to take a swipe at Jesse’s hygiene, saying it wasn’t the “best”.
“I didn’t see him shower once… Like NEVER,” she wrote.
Admitting they “didn’t spend a lot of time together”, Claire still thought
“Even the honeymoon that week… He was like, ‘I’m in the beach today, what’s the point [of showering]?” she recalled.
“It freaked me out a little lol.”
This isn’t the first time Claire’s resurfaced messages have found her in hot water, with her pub pash accomplice Adam Seed sharing their texts from the night of their kiss.
