The Summit Australia 2023 came to a wholesome end with a trio of competitors making it to the peak, but claims have since emerged that the finale was less wholesome and more “rigged”.

In the June 4 finale, Isaac Compton pocketed a whopping $250,000, while runner-up Brooke Kilowsky nabbed $150,000, and Lulu Hawton received $90,000.

However, the finalists may not have made it to the top of the mountain as successfully as the show depicted.

As reported in episode 297 of the So Dramatic! podcast, a source said the crew couldn’t “film the ending on the day they needed to”.

As such, “they staged it”.

“The day the contestants were meant to reach the summit they couldn’t film because of the weather,” they explained. “So they flew everyone down the mountain and then once the weather cleared a week later, they flew them all back to the top and filmed the ending.

“It was all rigged.”

When contacted for comment, a Channel Nine spokesperson denied this was the case.

“Claims that it was all rigged are completely untrue,” they told host Megan Pustetto.

Rigged or not, the finale still awarded The Summit stars some life-changing dough.

After the finale, 36-year-old Isaac dished on what he intends to spend his eye-watering amount of cash on.

Chatting to Yahoo! Lifestyle, he said he “promised” his mother a “kitchen that she’s been talking about for four or five years”.

“So I’m going to do that and help my dad out too,” he confessed.

“I think I’m going to do a little bit of travel and go explore the world and Australia, and I’ll most likely invest the money into a house or something like that.”

The self-described “struggling musician” from Dubbo added that it’s “surreal” that he won the intense adventure competition.

“We never had money growing up,” he said. “Money is a rare thing to really have and I think just knowing that there’s got to be that financial stability is a sense of relief.”
