Married at First Sight Australia‘s Lizzie Sobinoff has shared an emotional update on the “reality” of pregnancy.
The 32-year-old is expecting her first child with her husband Alexander Vega, however, unfortunately, her pregnancy journey hasn’t been the easiest ride.
On May 31, the former MAFS bride shared a vulnerable update to Instagram, confessing that she was “exhausted” and felt like “a bit of a failure”.
“I guess this is the reality of pregnancy as well, you know. I had to call in sick to work and it’s like … I’m just that exhausted,” she shared whilst breaking down in tears.
“This is the reality of pregnancy … You just feel really exhausted and tired and you start to feel like a bit of a failure.”
However, in her caption, the reality star shared that she was still very excited about her pregnancy.
“I’m on a journey and I’m so excited but I thought I’ll showcase some of the not-so-glamorous moments of my journey,” she wrote.
“I know these feelings pass. I think it’s cool to show these moments as well. All feelings are validated, this is just an honest moment when I was in the moment.”
Lizzie then shared the Australian Lifeline number — 13 11 14 — at the bottom of her caption.

Lizzie’s fans took to the comments section to thank her for her vulnerability.
“Thank you for normalising the hard times of pregnancy. It isn’t all sunshine and rainbows,” one user commented.
“You are doing a great job babe! No failure in listening to your body and putting yourself first. Love you,” another wrote.
Whilst a third person said: “Growing a human is hard work!!! Take the day to rest and regroup. It can’t always be rainbows and butterflies.”
However, among the praise were some less supportive comments, with people calling Lizzie “dramatic” and telling her the worst is yet to come.
This prompted her to share a follow-up video responding to these negative comments.
“Some of the comments came underneath saying, ‘Oh you wait ‘til you have the baby’ and ‘suck it up’. I’m just putting out a real honest moment of how I was feeling,” she said.
“Just bringing some truth out there that I was having a crappy moment. I think it’s great to share that.”

it comes after Lizzie announced that she was expecting her first child.
On May 7, she took to Instagram to share the exciting news, highlighting she’d recently received several comments about her body.
“Looking at some of these comments in the last few posts I’ve done,” she started.
“Always so much focus on a woman’s body (I’ve had more than my fair share). I’m navigating my body right now, so many changes, especially internally (I’ve been pretty sick),” she wrote in the cryptic post.
“I also understand so many people are excited. So am I!!!! It’s an exciting time in our lives right now. I’ll talk about my experience with it in the future.
“Mama bear is just nesting right now,” she added.
