MasterChef judge Andy Allen has made a touching public statement about the death of his co-star Jock Zonfrillo after the chef was laid to rest in a private funeral.

Jock sadly passed away on April 30, aged 46, and was farewelled by friends, family and colleagues on May 20.

The reality star judge took to Instagram to thank his fans and followers for their outpouring of support and kind messages following his friend’s death.

“Grieving the loss of Jock will no doubt be a forever process. The last couple of weeks have been the hardest there have ever been,” the 35-year-old wrote.

“However reading the thousands of messages of support from family, friends and those who didn’t personally know Jock but loved him all the same, has been overwhelming and helped not only me but I’m sure others cope with the tough times.”

He concluded: “Although I won’t be able to get back to each and every one of you….thank you x.”

Andy’s heartfelt caption was accompanied by a photo of himself and Jock, who appeared to be giving him some advice while filming Masterchef.

Jock Zonfrillo farewelled in a private funeral

Andy and his pregnant wife Alex Davey were among those who attended the celebrity chef’s private funeral.

He also carried Jock’s coffin alongside the late star’s widow, Lauren Fried.

The pair were more than just work pals and formed a close relationship with each other’s families including Jock’s kids Alfie, five, and Isla, two, and older daughters Ava and Sophia from a previous marriage, whom he leaves behind.

Also in attendance were Masterchef judge Melissa Leong, former judge George Calombaris, My Kitchen Rules stars Manu Feidel and Colin Fassnidge, as well as Miguel Maestre.

Jock’s body was found at a hotel in Melbourne at about 2 am on May 1.

Victoria Police are yet to determine the cause of death but have said it’s not suspicious.
