More details have emerged about Harry Garside‘s arrest on his return to Australia from filming I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! Australia 2023.
The Olympic Boxer was taken into custody at Sydney International Airport on May 2, after police launched an investigation into reports of an incident involving a 32-year-old woman, a NSW Police spokeswoman told AAP.
After talking to the Police for two hours, the 25-year-old said he would release a full statement soon, telling 7News that his arrest was “very confronting”.

Garside is being charged with domestic-violence-related common assault and will appear at Sydney’s Downing Centre Local Court on May 24.
According to The Daily Telegraph, police will allege that Garside hit his ex-girlfriend Ash Ruscoe on the head with his elbow and that there was a physical clash over a mobile phone.
At the time of the alleged assault, the reality star was reportedly visiting Ruscoe’s apartment in Bondi to retrieve his possessions after their breakup.
The NSW Police release a statement about Harry Garside’s arrest
The NSW Police have since released the following statement:
“Last month, officers from Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command commenced an investigation into reports of an alleged domestic violence-related incident at Bellevue Hill on Wednesday 1 March 2023.
“Following inquiries, a 25-year-old man was arrested at Sydney International Airport about 2.40 pm today (Tuesday 2 May 2023). He was taken to Mascot Police Station and charged with common assault (DV). He was granted conditional bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday 24 May 2023.”
Ruscoe was ambushed by 7News reporters on May 2 and when asked if she was surprised by the charges made against Garside she replied with a simple “no”.
Ruscoe is a wellness instructor and personal trainer. She competed on another Ten reality show, the Amazing Race Australia with former partner, Sidney Pierucci.

The incident comes after reports that Harry was being sued by his management for comments he made during an episode of I’m A Celebrity.
On the show, the lightweight opened up to AFL player Adam Cooney about the struggles of being an athlete.
“I hated turning professional, just people around me who wanted me because I was a potential cash cow,” Harry told the 2008 Brownlow medallist.
“They didn’t want my best interests. It’s so dirty and I really didn’t like it.
“I hate knowing there are people around me who didn’t particularly care about my wellbeing, they cared about the 10 per cent. It was really frustrating,” he added.
These comments landed Harry in hot water and he’s reportedly being sued for alleged defamation and breach of contract.
Harry’s former manager Peter Mitrevski has said the comments were highly offensive and inaccurate.
