I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! Australia 2023‘s Aesha Scott has dished on her pre-show training regime, and to say it’s unconventional is an understatement.

The self-confessed “Z-list” celeb — who found fame as a stew on Below Deck has proven to be a fast fan-favourite on the jungle series — despite being aware many viewers have no f*cking idea who she is.

However, the potential of being unrecognised didn’t stop Aesha from throwing her all into the show, even long before ever appearing on camera.

Chatting to news.com.au ahead of her venture into the South African jungle, the New Zealander revealed she trained to face some very unlikely hazards.

“My best friend has been like, ‘Now a lion’s running after you! Go, go, go!’, while I do these crawls on the floor,” she explained. “Then she’s like, ‘Now something else is taking you!’, while I’m trying to do pull-ups.

“Basically, we’ve been pretending I’m in the jungle at the gym.”

I’m a Celebrity‘s Aesha Scott facilitated her own eating challenges at home

As for the I’m a Celebrity eating challenges: Aesha wasn’t prepared to tap out, no matter how foul the food was.

“I hate seafood. And so I had to eat a mussel and then I had to eat raw salmon, which people seek out voluntarily. And both of those things, I was just gagging, retching, tears coming down my face,” she confessed, revealing she practised eating outlandish foods at home.

“It took me about 10 minutes to get each one down. And then I had bull’s testicles, and that was actually quite nice because it was fried and it tasted like schnitzel … But I don’t think they’re going to be fried [on the show].”

Imagine if Kerri-Anne Kennerley had put this much prep into her appearance. Maybe she would’ve lasted more than five minutes in there!

Aesha’s pre-show training also included eating more to pack on some extra weight to prepare herself for food deprivation in the jungle.

However, the one thing she wasn’t ready for was her campmates’ negative attitudes.

“I hate complaining. It doesn’t change your situation. It just makes everyone very aware of it,” she confessed.

“So it’s like if someone’s sitting there like, ‘I’m hungry, I’m hot, I’m this, I’m that,’ I will probably snap because I just can’t tolerate it.”
