Married at First Sight Australia 2023‘s Josh White is set to quit the infamous experiment this week after being pressured by his TV wife Melissa Sheppard to be more sexually active.
As revealed in episode 256 of the So Dramatic! podcast, the experts made the unprecedented decision to allow the 40-year-old groom to leave the show, due to the volatile nature of the couple’s relationship.
The newlyweds had a “great connection” from day one, but they’ve had very different outlooks on discussing their sex lives.
Some viewers believed that the mother-of-one’s constant emphasis on a “healthy sex life” and risqué comments would be considered “predatory” and “sexual harassment” if the roles were reversed. The backlash has become so intense that the 41-year-old hairdresser has begged fans to stop “bullying” her online.
And it looks like that’s not even the climax for the couple (pun intended).

The father-of-one, who has already been struggling to keep up with Melissa’s sexual desires, buckles under the pressure of Intimacy Week.
“It was the last thing Josh would have wanted at this point in the experiment,” the insider revealed to So Dramatic!.
“He already felt like a sex object and extremely pressured and overwhelmed without having the experts force more intimacy on them.”
The source went on to explain that Intimacy Week was the “straw that broke the camel’s back.”
“At the second Commitment Ceremony, Josh writes leave and Melissa writes stay but Josh uncontrollably breaks down and says Melissa is a monster,” the insider dished.
“He calls her controlling and says she only wants him as a sex object. It’s very dramatic and intense.”
“Melissa said, ‘If I only wanted sex, I’d just go on Tinder and stuff these days. You don’t need to go on a reality show and air your laundry to do that’.
“Josh then says that he ‘can’t do this anymore’ and starts crying.

The insider explained that the situation gets so bad that John Aitkin is forced to intervene and lets Josh leave the experiment despite the rules stating you need to stay if one person writes stay.
“John said, ‘Well, I think the damage is already done. Josh, we’re giving you the chance, what do you want to do? And he said, ‘I’m gonna leave’ and he left. And then he gets up, and Melissa follows him to make sure he is OK.”
The source went on to explain that Melissa was blindsided, and had “no idea he felt this way.”
