The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City‘s Heather Gay has shared more details about how she got her black eye.
When the show’s Season Three trailer dropped earlier this year, fans were gobsmacked when the Bad Mormom author debuted a sizeable black eye. Ever since, they’ve had one lingering question: how did she get it?
While viewers have been holding out for answers all season, they still don’t have all the answers after the dramatic scene finally played out.
During the December 14 episode, fans saw Heather open the door of their rented San Diego house during a boozy night on their girls’ trip.
However, Real Housewives fans were left disappointed after producers left them on a cliffhanger, teasing all to be revealed in the following episode.
However, that didn’t exactly happen…
How did the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’s Heather Gay get her black eye?
While The Beauty Lab + Laser owner gave more insight into what really happened during the show’s December 21 episode — including why she is withholding information — she didn’t say who or what gave her the black eye.
During a confessional, Heather was asked how the shiner came about.
“I didn’t say I don’t remember how it happened,” she shared. “I just said I’m not talking about it. It’s the first rule of Fight Club.”
Throughout the episode, Heather insisted she didn’t remember the previous night’s events. As shown via security camera footage, several cast members stopped by her hotel room for some late-night partying after their Marilyn Monroe-themed dinner and club outing.
“I don’t wanna get anyone in trouble,” she told co-star Jen Shah the morning after the incident.
The group then assembled for their day in San Diego, and Heather hinted that certain cast members may know more than they’re letting on, saying: “I think we all know what happened. I just think we don’t wanna talk about it.”
Lisa suspected someone may have “clocked her,” to which Heather responded: “Well, maybe somebody did, and they don’t wanna talk about it.”
Heather quickly brushed the topic off, declaring she didn’t want her eye to ruin their day.

While rollerblading with Lisa and the show’s friend-of Danna Bui-Negrete, Whitney Rose said she thought Jen may be the culprit. She also said that Heather was keeping her blame a secret, so as not to affect her ongoing legal troubles.
The season was filmed before Jen pleaded guilty in her federal fraud case on July 11.
However, it turns out the person Heather is trying to protect is someone much closer to her.
The episode concluded with producers asking the Real Housewife in confessional: “Why do you not want to talk about it? Who are you trying to protect?”
Heather responded, “Myself,” followed by a “to be continued” tease.
So, it looks like fans will have to keep waiting to uncover the truth behind the show’s biggest-ever mystery!
Heather Gay talks to So Dramatic! about her black eye in the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City
Speaking exclusively to host Megan Pustetto in episode 217 of the So Dramatic! podcast, the housewife opened up about her confronting injury, calling it “painful” and “dramatic”.
“When I watched it back, it took me right back to that moment. It was totally dramatic and traumatic and shocking. It’s going to be interesting to watch it all play out,” she said.
The mother-of-two also hinted at even more drama headed our way.
“I have never in my life had a black eye like that,” she said.
“And I think, in many ways, it was the universe letting me know that I had hit my limit in terms of what I was willing to endure. I think all the viewers will see that this season.”
