Claudia Bonifazio and Austen Bugeja have been crowned the winners of Love Island Australia 2022, and this surprises us none!
Given the fourth season of the dating show was pre-recorded for the first time, there was a sh*t-ton of confusion over whether viewers would get a chance to vote for their fave couple.
However, once the voting website went live, Love Island die-hards rallied around the fan-fave couple, ultimately awarding them a shared $50,000 during the December 20 finale.
Speaking about his win, Austen, 22, said he was “over the moon”.
“I genuinely can’t believe it!” he told host Sophie Monk, while Claudia, 23, said she was “lost for words”.
In a statement following their victory, the winners gushed about their partner.
“To win is amazing, but also to find a one-in-a-million person like Austen is just incredible,” Claudia mused. “I feel so lucky and I couldn’t have asked to find someone better.
“He is everything I’ve ever wanted in someone and more.”
Meanwhile, Austen said he was not “expecting” to find “someone like Claudia” when applying for the show.
“There is no one like her,” he said. “We have such an incredible connection and our future together is so bright.”
And we agree, particularly because we’ve already been privy to their life outside the villa…
With every set of winners, there do, sadly, have to be losers; however, we’re not sure we can call runners-up Mitch Eliot and Phoebe Spiller, and Callum Hole and Madeline Wilcox that when they still ended the show with a bae!

Taking to social media following the finale, ecstatic viewers celebrated Claudia and Austen’s rightful win.
“CLAUSTEN SUPREMACY [sic],” one fan expressed and our thoughts, exactly!
