Love Island Australia 2022’s Al Perkins has revealed why he’s been making sly digs at Jess Losurdo in his Instagram captions.
The Married at First Sight alum previously claimed they were still good “friends”, but he’s seemingly been slamming Jess on various social media posts.
Al posted a pic of the once-happy duo hugging with the caption: “in Spain without the S.”
“They always come crawling back 🥱 [sic],” he added in another pic.
Another Instagram post read: “Smiling through the pain.”
He was even more direct with other remarks, writing, “I stress less without Jess” in a boys’ group shot and “looking at my next option” in a pic of him looking off camera. Big yikes!
“I entered Love Island looking for a ten but I’m leaving with a tan,” Al wrote on Instagram as he announced his departure.
While these caused major concerns for any fans rooting for the unlikely duo, Al has revealed to So Dramatic! that Jess was in on the joke.
“Me and Jess have a laugh about it all the time. It’s just inside bants,” he said. Good to know!
What happened between Jess and Al after leaving Love Island Australia?
His cheeky explanation comes after Jess and Al revealed how their relationship is going outside of the villa.
The former MAFS star admitted while they tried to maintain their relationship after leaving the villa, they were just close friends “at the moment”.
“We tried to be friends after the show. It was probably better that way. We’re still like really good friends to this day,” Al confirmed.
He continued: “We still FaceTime every second day and things like that. I’m really grateful to have her in my life and for the journey we went on. But we just happen to be friends at the moment.”
Meanwhile, Jess was leaving the door open, telling us: “We’re seeing where it goes.”
“We still talk a lot. We see each other a lot, we’re still talking with each other a lot. Yeah, no, we’re good,” she said.
Maybe tone down on the “bants” if you still want a chance, Al!
