After rising to fame as a finalist on The X Factor Australia, Johnny Ruffo nabbed a highly coveted gig on the iconic Aussie soap Home and Away from 2013 to 2016.

However, the 34-year-old was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2017 and was believed to be cancer-free in 2019. But his cancer returned and was recently confirmed to be terminal.

Speaking to Yahoo Lifestyle on December 2, Johnny said he’d love to return to the small screen to “cameo” as fan fave Chris Harrington.

“I’d love to go back on Home and Away, spend some more time with Irene [Roberts],” Johnny said of his on-screen love interest.

He added: “We had a great relationship [on set] and we still have a great relationship out of Home and Away, [actress] Lynne [McGranger] and I.”

“Not tell anyone, just waltz on in and order a coffee. And Lynne — I mean Irene — would be like…. Chris!”
