Johnny Ruffo‘s girlfriend Tahnee Sims has shared a heartfelt tribute to the former X Factor Australia star after his new book release, as he continues his battle with terminal brain cancer.
The 34-year-old singer released his autobiography No Finish Line on August 30, and Tahnee praised her partner and “fav author” for his hard work and dedication.
“Proud of you every day, but watching you smash yet another goal whilst dealing with everything you have been dealt is inspiring beyond words. You are one of a kind,” Tahnee wrote on Instagram.
Johnny dedicated the book to his girlfriend, writing on the first page that she was his “guardian angel“.

The book’s release comes after Johnny confirmed that he had been diagnosed with “terminal cancer”, telling The Project’s Carrie Bickmore: “At some point, it will get me, but I’ll still fighting, still kicking on.”
On August 29, Johnny said he was “already winning” because the average life expectancy for his type of cancer was three years, and “now it has been five years”.
In the same interview, Johnny also shared some of the lesser-known side effects of his ongoing cancer treatment.
He noted he struggled to find words he already knew and dealt with severe fatigue, which made writing his book all the more difficult.
Johnny Ruffo Becomes “Emotional” When Thinking About How His Girlfriend Will Cope Without Him
While speaking on The Project, Johnny admitted he often became emotional when thinking about what it would be like for his partner Tahnee when he passed.
“I can only imagine how difficult it has been for her. What plays in my head a lot is, I hate to say this, how hard it may be for her if something does happen to me,” Johnny said.
He continued: “It’s something that I don’t want to think about. It just gets me a little bit emotional about it because I know at some point something will happen, whether it’s a month from now or ten years from now or 20 years.”
Johnny then turned to the camera to say “thank you” to Tahnee for “everything she has done”.

In a subsequent interview with Who Magazine, Johnny confessed that he feels he’s to blame for Tahnee’s “pain” amid his cancer battle.
“I already feel the pain that she’s going to have to go through, and there’s nothing I can do about that,” he told the publication. “I can’t take that away from her.
“It’s heartbreaking for me, and it feels like it’s all my fault. I don’t know what to do. So we take each day as it comes. I’m fighting my hardest.”
