X Factor Australia‘s Johnny Ruffo has expressed concern about how his girlfriend Tahnee Sims would cope without him if he lost his terminal brain cancer battle.

On August 29, the 34-year-old singer confirmed he had been diagnosed with “terminal cancer”, explaining: “At some point, it will get me, but I’ll still fighting, still kicking on.”

Johnny told The Project’s Carrie Bickmore he felt he was “already winning” because the average life expectancy for his type of cancer was three years, and “now it has been five years”.

Johnny Ruffo Becomes “Emotional” When Thinking About How His Girlfriend Will Cope Without Him

Johnny admitted he often became emotional when thinking about what it would be like for his partner Tahnee when he passed.

“I can only imagine how difficult it has been for her. What plays in my head a lot is, I hate to say this, how hard it may be for her if something does happen to me,” Johnny said.

He continued: “It’s something that I don’t want to think about. It just gets me a little bit emotional about it because I know at some point something will happen, whether it’s a month from now or ten years from now or 20 years.”

Johnny then turned to the camera to say “thank you” to Tahnee for “everything she has done”.

Wishing Johnny all the best as he continues his battle.
