The Amazing Race Australia 2022 winner Toni Hilland has been dealt a crushing blow with the discovery of tumours in her brain.

The diagnosis comes after the 39-year-old’s seven-year battle with breast cancer, which has now turned terminal.

According to the Herald Sun, Toni collapsed during a celebratory dinner with her husband, Heath Curry, after their Amazing Race earnings ($250k) were deposited into their bank account.

“I had a glass of prosecco to celebrate, and I just did not feel great, and I ended up passing out in the restaurant,” Toni told the outlet.

“I got taken to The Alfred, and because of my terminal diagnosis, they wanted to do a brain scan. Unfortunately, they did an MRI, and I have a couple of tumours in my brain.”

Now that the tumours have been discovered, the reality star revealed that it had “shortened my expected life even further”.

“When I was diagnosed [with breast cancer] and told it was terminal, I was told it [life expectancy] was five years average, and now it is one to two,” she said.

“I don’t want to waste time in bed crying. My motto is to seize the day, carpe diem.”

While a grim diagnosis, Toni is still fighting her battle and is being treated with chemo and a new immunotherapy drug.

Toni Hilland and Heath Curry Will Take Part In the Cancer Council of Victoria’s Walking Stars Fundraising Night

Never one to give up, as we saw on The Amazing Race, Toni and Heath are participating in the Cancer Council of Victoria’s Walking Stars fundraising night on Saturday, December 3.

The course is 21 kilometres around Melbourne, and Toni has urged fans to come and join them.

“We’ve raced around the world for eight weeks carrying very heavy backpacks, so the least you can do is come join us walking around Melbourne for a half marathon,” Hilland said.

During the October 9 finale, Toni and Heath, A.K.A Team Memory Makers, were the first to reach the final pit stop of The Amazing Race Australia, winning the prize money and two new cars.

“If anyone deserves it, it’s you guys. You’ve been the best team this season by a long way,” host Beau Ryan told the pair upon their arrival.

Once they’d reached Beau and their very excited former running mates, Heath called his wife an “inspiration” before revealing that she was his “world”.

“Oh, mate, she is my world,” he said. “I hate that cancer is gonna tear us apart, but we wanted to make memories, and we’ve done that.”
