The Amazing Race Australia 2022 host Beau Ryan caught COVID halfway through filming and had to call in some emergency help from E! News presenter Scott Tweedie.
However, the Aussie journalist (and ex-Prank Patrol host) wasn’t Beau’s first replacement after Network Ten decided his job could be done by a talking robot. Way to knock a man while he’s down!
Beau was sent into isolation as soon as he received a positive COVID test in Greece, which meant Crystal Tawil and Reem Chokrwere brutally eliminated from the show by a machine after they reached the Turkish pit stop last.
The sassy robot was just a placeholder, however, with Scott quickly jetting to Europe from Los Angeles.
Why Did Scott Tweedie Replace Beau Ryan on The Amazing Race Australia 2022?
“Made a call to my mate [Scott] to host The Amazing Race Australia whilst I had COVID,” Beau recently revealed on Instagram.
He continued: “It ain’t easy and he had no prep time and does well. The guy is an exceptional presenter and is about to next level.
“Thanks Scotty for filling in my size 14 US shoes. [sic]” Weird flex, Beau, but okay.
Meanwhile, Scott wrote on his Instagram Story that it was “always fun to jump on a plane to Turkey to help out [Beau] while he is stuck in Greece mid-race”.
