The Challenge Australia 2022‘s Billy Dib has revealed that co-star Cyrell Paule would drum up drama for notoriety and “clout”.
It’s no secret that Cyclone Cyrell loves a stoush, something the 37-year-old believes the mum-of-one initiated for the cameras.
“That’s the thing about Cyrell… Anytime that the cameras would be on, you could see who the clout chasers were. And Cyrell was definitely a clout chaser,” Billy admitted in episode 231 of the So Dramatic! podcast.
The athlete said that despite Cyrell talking a big game on-screen, she’d be “crying” behind closed doors.
“The cameras are on, and she’d be all crazy, but in private, she’d cry and talk about how people would pay her out,” he said, adding that she confided in him about copping a lot of hate after announcing she was pregnant with her son, Boston.
Billy admitted that he was “saying all these nice things” to Cyrell in her moments of doubt, only for her to turn on him “the minute the camera would come on”,
“She’d be down people’s throats and trying to put them down. I was like, ‘I was just being supportive towards you; what the hell is wrong with you?'”
Billy Dib Reveals What Cyrell Paule Said to Him Ahead of His Elimination
Noting that she lived up to her “Cyclone Cyrell” moniker, Billy said he was taken aback by the harsh words the Married at First Sight bride threw at him ahead of the first elimination task.
According to the father of one, Cyrell told him he was a “has-been”.
“When Emily [Seebohm] and Ryan [Gallagher] were trying to work out who they’re going to put in for the elimination round, I was pleading my case, and she was like, ‘What, are you scared?’
“I said, ‘I’m not scared of anything. Look, I’m a former two-time boxing world champion’. And she goes, ‘You’re a has-been’.”
Billy, who is battling an aggressive and rare form of non-Hodgkins lymphoma cancer, suggested Cyrell shouldn’t be throwing stones in glass houses.
“Cyrell, you’re famous for being on a TV show where you married some guy that you didn’t even know. Like, why are you putting people down?” he wondered aloud.
“I’ve achieved real things in my life. How dare you put me down.”
