Kyle Sandilands has finally revealed the real reason behind his and co-host Jackie O Henderson‘s dramatic mid-radio show walkout in October.

ICYMI: The Kyle and Jackie O Show hosts walked out on their breakfast programme on October 21 after an interview segment with Alan Jones was censored.

Having just boosted his ego by defeating Ben Fordham in Sydney’s latest round of breakfast radio ratings (and becoming the most listened-to show in Australia), Kyle finally graced us with a believable explanation for ditching.

It turns out that producers “freaked out” that Kyle would go on a rant when their guest brought up the shock jock having recently made headlines (for saying an ableist slur).

The controversial co-stars – who were recently inducted into the Australian Commercial Radio Awards (ACRAs) Hall of Fame – claimed Kyle wouldn’t have been triggered by the initial comment. Sure, Jan.

The pair previously raged about a “lack of communication” behind the show’s scenes before abruptly ending the episode early.

But Kyle reckons the office’s morale was still “good”. Nothing like a healthy dose of fear in the workplace….

“We’re happy with ARN, we love them, they love us, and every now and then there’s a miscommunication, and that’s all that was,” Kyle told news.com.au.

He continued: “Everyone needs to understand that Jackie and I own this show… They contract us to execute our show that we own.”

Kyle Sandilands Previously Suggested That Things Weren’t “Smoothed Over” Following Dramatic Walkout

After returning to the airwaves on October 24, Kyle said: “There was some confusion between management and mixed signals, wishy-washy back-end signals”.

“Who cares what a team of management think?” he declared. “I don’t care what they think.”

Their newsreader, Brooklyn Ross, questioned whether the incident was “all smoothed over”.

“No, no, it’s not smoothed over,” Kyle said. Jackie disagreed, telling her co-star: “Yes, it is, don’t lie!”

Okay, is it really smoothed over now or are the radio stars just in a good mood after breaking yet another record?!
