Abbie Chatfield has spoken out against radio shock jock Kyle Sandilands and questioned how he hasn’t been “cancelled” for his ever-growing list of offensive and problematic comments.

The 51-year-old’s long list of controversies came to her attention after his recent use of an ableist slur on-air.

The incident – like many other issues involving Kyle – was at least temporarily brushed under the rug by the Australian Radio Network (ARN), despite their claims that they would be “undertaking a full review”.

He also described his bosses and public relations team as “losers” and “flops” and used a slur.

The nine-minute rant caused companies Bunnings and Telecom to review their advertising allocations on with the network.

Rising Radio Star Abbie Chatfield Doesn’t Understand Why Shock Jock Kyle Sandilands Hasn’t Been “Cancelled”

Currently thriving in the radio space herself, Abbie was “disgusted” that Kyle wasn’t “cancelled” or “reprimanded” for his consistently inappropriate comments.

“I don’t know why he’s not at least being reprimanded. I don’t know why advertisers still align,” Abbie told the Daily Telegraph. “It’s continually disappointing and continually disgusting, the things that he says on air.”

She continued: “It’s as baffling to me as it is to everyone else. I don’t know how he can continue. What he said during the Paralympics was awful, and then saying one of the night hosts probably had monkeypox.”

The new Masked Singer Australia judge believed many other radio stars wouldn’t get away with similar behaviour.

She suggested that “apathetic” listeners shrug off the father of one’s remarks because “that’s just Kyle”.

Abbie Chatfield Has Previously Worked with Kyle Sandilands… And is Scheduled To Do So Again

Having appeared on countless reality shows, we’re not exactly surprised that Abbie has been a guest on the Kyle and Jackie O Show in the past.

After her stint on The Bachelor Australia in 2019, Kyle brought Abbie to tears by detailing Matt Agnew‘s sex life with his then-partner Chelsie McLeod.

But despite the seemingly traumatic on-air phone call, Abbie has appeared on the show numerous times since – including in 2021, when she educated Kyle on sex toys and turn-offs in the bedroom.

Abbie and Kyle are also scheduled to appear at a Commercial Radio and Audio (CRA) conference in Sydney on October 28.

The conference’s email suggests they will be appearing on an expert panel together, with the event focusing on “Australia’s evolving audio market in an afternoon packed with unlimited intel and insights”.

The event will be followed by “networking drinks”, so we’ll be keen to see whether Abbie takes the opportunity to air her grievances in person.
