Australian Survivor’s Sophie Cachia has revealed she fled Italy at 4 am after her shock split from fiancée Maddie Garrick.
The Blood v Water contender took to her Instagram Story on October 23 to share the heartbreaking news that she and the basketballer had parted ways, with sources telling So Dramatic! that infidelity on Maddie’s behalf was at play.
The former couple, who became engaged seven months ago, had just begun a long-distance relationship after Maddie moved to Florence, Italy, for a work opportunity with Polisportiva A.Galli Basket.
Sophie was visiting her partner at the time of the break-up.
Now, in an Instagram post dedicated to her close friend and personal assistant Caitlin Pilatti, Sophie has given more of a glimpse into the moments following her relationship breakdown.
“They say you become the environment you’re surrounded by,” the mum of two penned alongside a snap of the pair.
“From answering a 4 am call from Italy to get me home to right now — this chick has held my hand & helped ride the wave with me lately.”
Sophie went on to insinuate that she’s considering a move from her recently renovated home, which she shared with Maddie, adding that Caitlin has “packed up the house for [her]”.
“She’s cried with me, held me… stayed awake for sleepless nights with me,” she wrote. “Been there for my babies for every minute I couldn’t be the best version of myself.”
Sophie Cachia Says She’s Going to “Concentrate” on Her Children Moving Forward
In a subsequent statement to FEMAIL, Sophie (via Cailtin) said her kids, Bobby. seven and Florence, five, are her main focus moving forward.
According to the publication, the 32-year-old will “concentrate on being the best mum possible” to the youngsters, who she shares with ex-husband Jaryd Cachia.
It comes after a friend confirmed to So Dramatic! that Maddie had cheated on Sophie, leading to their break up.
“Just listened to this morning’s [Tuesday, October 25] podcast and can confirm Sophie’s sister Amy Shaw is telling people Maddie cheated on her,” the insider reported in episode 226 of the So Dramatic! podcast.
“She found out by checking through her phone when they were in Italy.”
Another source also confirmed the rumour, stating that “Maddie had started dating someone in her Italy basketball team”.
“Then Sophie went over; Mads tried to hide it but soon confessed to Sophie!”
Apparently, after their split, Sophie was told to “cancel any work” with her former partner and “drop her”.
