The real reason behind Australian Survivor’s Sophie Cachia split from Maddie Garrick has been revealed.
ICYMI: Taking to her Instagram Story on October 23, the reality star and influencer revealed the shocking break-up news.
The former couple, who became engaged seven months ago, had just begun a long-distance relationship after Maddie moved to Florence, Italy, for a work opportunity with Polisportiva A.Galli Basket.
Now, as revealed in episode 226 of the So Dramatic! podcast, a friend has come forward to confirm that Maddie had cheated on Sophie, leading to their break up.
“Just listened to this morning’s [Tuesday, October 25] podcast and can confirm Sophie’s sister Amy Shaw is telling people Maddie cheated on her,” the insider said. “She found out by checking through her phone when they were in Italy.”
Of course, when one source spills tea, it’s best to take it with a grain of salt, but when a second source comes along, we sit up and listen!
A Second Source Confirms the Reason Sophie Cachia and Maddie Garrick Split
“I know Maddie,” the second person admitted. “Maddie had started dating someone in her Italy basketball team, and then Sophie went over, Mads tried to hide it but soon confessed to Sophie!”
She continued: “Maddie is still dating the girl in her Italy Bball team too!”
Apparently, after their split, Sophie was told to “cancel any work” with her former partner and “drop her”.

When host Megan Pustetto asked the tea spiller if they were in an “open relationship”, they said: “They definitely were not in an open relationship.”
This intel does seem to check out, particularly since Sophie alluded to the fact that her “trust” was broken, and was further cemented by a piece on Tattle.Life which was sent in by someone who had dinner with a person from Basketball Australia.
According to the tip off, after telling Maddie she was coming to Italy, Maddie asked Sophie not to; however, the influencer said she was “coming anyway”.
“Sophie turned up anyway and immediately got wind that something was up,” they said. “They all went out to a team dinner, and Maddie was extremely uncomfortable because she was also sleeping with someone on the team.”
Apparently, the mum-of-two “picked up the vibe and later went through Maddie’s phone and found proof”.
Sophie Cachia Announces Split from Maddie Garrick
Taking to her Instagram Story on October 23, the reality star revealed the shocking news.
“It is with sadness and a great deal of pain that I have unfortunately made the decision to end my relationship,” Sophie said.
“Despite the great deal of love I still hold, I have made this decision to lead by example for what I know I deserve in life for myself and for my children — because we are all worthy.”
The mum-fluencer then said, “while I am hurting, life must go on”.
“I still have to show up for work with my businesses and most importantly be a mum and role model to my two children.”
A few days later, Sophie took to Instagram to comment on the breakup further, saying she felt “humiliated”.
