It has been 13 years since Jordan Finlayson was on Beauty and the Geek Australia and now the former reality star has begged a local judge to send her to rehab instead of back to jail.

Over the past year, the 31-year-old has faced a string of charges, including two counts of common assault, an apprehended violence order and possession of identity information to commit fraud.

During an appearance at Sydney’s Downing Centre Local Court on September 29, the former NRL cheerleader pleaded guilty to one count of assault.

Why Did Jordan Finlayson Plead Guilty to Assault?

According to a police fact sheet viewed by the Daily Telegraph, on February 14 2022, Finlayson had been living with her father, sister, brother-in-law and their children after being released from a two-year and three-month prison sentence.

While living at the home, Finlayson snuck her boyfriend in, breaking “rules” that the family had set out for her to be able to live with them.

When asked if he was there, she told her sister and subsequently her brother-in-law, ‘no’; however, her partner was hiding under a bed. Court documents also showed that he was “severely affected by illicit drugs”.

Finlayson’s sister tthen old the boyfriend to “get out of this house” before the former TV star became involved.

“F*ck off, you fat b*tch,” she told her sister.

After her brother-in-law intervened, she threw a glass of juice at him, hitting him in the eye and then ran to her room before being dragged out by her sister.

The partner, who had two outstanding arrest warrants for his arrest for alleged malicious wounding, came back three days later, and the police were called.

Even though she was due to appear in court six days after her arrest, she was arrested the day before her hearing and sent back to jail.

During her appearance in court, her barrister, Daniel Grippi, recommended she be sent to rehab instead of jail since it is clear she has a serious drug problem.

“Not once did parole take it upon themselves to assist her to go into rehab… even now Ms Finlayson is on the edge,” the court heard.

While she knows her crimes and the consequences, he believes rehab could help her.

Deputy Chief Magistrate Sharon Freund then adjourned the case for three months to ensure Finlayson gets the help she needs, however, told her: “Unless you break this cycle now, you could look down the barrel of being institutionalised, and I don’t want that for you.”

She will face court again in January 2023.

Finlayson also fronted court on August 3, 2022 for stealing credit cards from men while waitressing.
