Beauty and the Geek Australia 2022 contestant Emily Mccarthy has issued a statement following a conviction for drink driving.
The 25-year-old was found driving three times over the legal limit on November 7, 2021.
Emily blew 0.168 in a roadside breath test after she was pulled over in Sydney. She was then arrested and taken to Kogarah police station.
The “beauty” was charged with high-range drink driving after pleading guilty to the offence. She was also fined $500 when she faced the charges at Sutherland Local Court on January 13.
“The accused stated she had recently finished an alcoholic beverage at the Gymea Hotel 20 minutes prior to being stopped by police,” police said.
Emily was also disqualified from driving for six months.

Emily told So Dramatic! via Nine’s publicity team that she “deeply regrets” the offence.
“I deeply regret my decision and take full responsibility for my actions,” she said.
“I accepted the court outcome and this has been a huge learning for me and something I will never do again.”
The Sydneysider will appear on the latest season of Beauty and the Geek, which kicks off on July 17.
According to her official cast bio, Emily is the “loudest person at every party”.
What’s more, is that her favourite thing to do is “tanning, tanning and fake tanning”!
The flight attendant has travelled to 56 different countries. However, she’s hoping that she’ll find some homegrown gems during BATG,
“I want to find someone who can treat me the way I deserve to be treated,” she confessed. “I’m looking for love, but if I get great friends out of it, then that’s amazing.”
