Former Big Brother Australia star Skye Wheatley has addressed the offensive OnlyFans comments she made on a YouTube video this week, with a grovelling apology and explanation.

In a since-deleted vlog, the 27-year-old slammed OnlyFans creators for “ending marriages” and “f*cking” themselves on camera to make money.

In the footage, the former reality TV star told YouTuber Michael Finch that she was “fuming” because she “likes to make money” by promoting products to her audience, rather than filming adult-only content for paying subscribers.

Speaking exclusively to So Dramatic! on Wednesday, Skye issued an apology, expressing that she was deeply sorry for her comments.

“I am truly sorry if I offended anyone with my comments,” she said. “I 100 per cent think that what I said was nasty and not acceptable.”

Skye further explained her comments, revealing that they were taken out of context of a conversation about a specific sex worker she was having issues with.

Why Did Skye Wheatley Make These Comments About OnlyFans Creators?

“It’s not an excuse but I was speaking out of hurt and anger about someone specifically, not OnlyFans creators in general,” she said. “This someone I was talking about is a sex worker and was coming for my line of work and I was venting to a friend.

“I was heated and defensive of me and a friend but I don’t actually have those views.

She continued: “It was never meant to be posted publicly as I know what I said is very hurtful.”

Skye then reiterated that she “has nothing against sex workers” and it was a “shame” that the video was posted against her will as she understands that her comments are hurtful and offensive.

“It wasn’t nice and I know that and own that. Again, I am sorry.”

Skye Says the Video Has Ruined Her Friendship With Influencer Bestie Michael Finch

The influencer went on to reveal that the video has “ruined her friendship” with fellow influencer Michael. She added that the pair are no longer talking.

“He didn’t even consent with me before posting it,” she confessed. “I thought he would know not to include offensive stuff like that to the public.”

What Did Skye Wheatley Say About OnlyFans Creators?

Skye claimed that OnlyFans creators make an income by “ending marriages” because women discover their husbands were “secretly” subscribed to 18+ content. (Side note: she didn’t put the same onus on male creators).

“Sorry, let me get my dildo out and f*ck myself on OnlyFans,” Skye mimicked in a fake British accent in Michael’s since-deleted vlog.

She went on to explain: “I actually thought about making a video on this last night aye because I’m fuming.

“[In the video, I would say] that I ‘like to make my money by approving a product or loving a product organically and sharing it with my audience rather than f*cking myself with a f*cking dildo and making money off [it]’,” Skye said.

The mother-of-two appeared to suggest that performing sex acts in videos and posting the content to OnlyFans directly resulted in marriages ending.

“Do you know how many girls that go through their boyfriend’s phone and see that they’re secretly subscribed to a girl’s OnlyFans? That’s the end of a marriage right there. It’s actually ludicrous,” she said.

Michael initially appeared uncomfortable during the majority of Skye’s rant, but ended up agreeing with her by saying “absolutely darling” in a fake British accent.

Netizens Share Their Outrage About Skye Wheatley’s Problematic Statements About Making Money on OnlyFans

The Outspoken podcast quickly picked up the trending news topic, theorising that Skye thought she was “better” than OnlyFans creators and was “annoyed” that she wasn’t making as much as those on the lucrative adult-only platform.

“What Skye said is extremely condescending and offensive,’ Amy, Sophie and Kate Taeuber agreed.

They then added that it was “unfair” to blame the end of a marriage on a sex worker. Shout it from the rooftop, girls!

Fans of the podcast adamantly agreed with their sentiment, slamming Skye’s outdated perspective which was veering dangerously close to (if not right on top of) being outwardly anti-sex work.

“I’m sorry but if your partner is secretly subscribed to OF [OnlyFans] then that’s a problem with your relationship not OF,” one Instagram user commented.

Others suggested that Skye never takes “responsibility for the vulgar things that come out of her mouth”, seemingly suggesting she wouldn’t be apologising for her comments.

One fan vaguely recalled Skye telling her viewers during a Q&A that she had considered making an OnlyFans.

Some felt she was being “hypocritical” as she posted photos in lingerie on her Instagram. She has every right to share that content and so do OF creators!
