The Block 2021’s Tanya Guccione has revealed why she admires Elle Ferguson and Joel Patfull for quitting the renovation show after just 48 hours into filming the 2022 season.

The duo spectacularly ditched production after Joel’s mother reportedly had a nasty fall. However, several sources have since claimed the pair just couldn’t hack it in the intense competition.

Now, 2021 “villain” Tanya has told So Dramatic!‘s Megan Pustetto that Elle and Joel had a lot of guts to walk away from the series.

“I think that The Block isn’t for everybody, which is why I have so much respect for Elle who left,” the 40-year-old confessed.

“I’m like, ‘Good on you, just good on you’, because there were moments where I was like, we can’t do this.”

The mum of two went on to reveal that her husband, Vito, “left [the show] three [or] four times” as a result of the constant pressures of the competition.

“They didn’t show… I think they showed one walk-off, maybe, but he left like three, four times,” she said. “He would say to me, ‘I can’t do this, Tan. I am not made for TV, this is way harder than what I thought.”

Tanya’s support for Elle and Joel’s decision to leave the show comes after 2019 contestant El’ise Bothe praised the pair for quitting.

What Did The Block 2019‘s El’ise Bothe Say About Elle Ferguson and Joel Patfull Quitting?

While El’ise and her husband Matt Bothe now reflect fondly on their own The Block experience, they received a significant amount of trolling when their season aired in 2019.

So, it makes sense that the reality star spoke out against the onslaught of hate that Elle and Joel received after they ditched The Block 2022 just two days into filming.

“You don’t want to be there, you go, no questions attached. Good on ’em for having the guts and the courage,” El’ise told the Daily Mail Australia on August 25.

“The first thing that I teach my children is if you’re in a situation that you don’t feel comfortable with, you get out. You leave,” the 35-year-old added.
