Farmer Wants a Wife 2022 fans took to Twitter to question contestants’ ages, point out the beginnings of a “villain edit”, and drool over Farmer Will Simpson during the premiere episode of Australia’s “most successful” dating reality show.

While fans were excited to see the show return, many were shocked by the number of women under 25 who were introduced.

The oldest farmer this season, 33-year-old Benjamin Jackson, met eligible bachelorettes in their early 30s, while Farmer Paige Marsh had a reasonably mixed bag, despite being just 27.

However, father-of-one Farmer Ben Scowen, 27, was introduced to contestants aged between 23 and 32 and the “youngest farmer ever”, Farmer Harry Lloyd, 23, and 26-year-old Farmer Will met ladies between 22 and 25 years old.

So, with such a young group of people, viewers were left baffled by why people in their early 20s would apply for Farmer Wants a Wife.

Some fans even pointed out that getting advice from Samantha Armytage wouldn’t help the younger girls since the former Sunrise host had already accomplished many of her own career goals before moving to the country in her 40s.

Fans Noticed That Farmer Wants a Wife Contestant Gabrielle Has The Beginnings of a Villain Edit

The young pilot admitted early in the September 4 episode that she struggled with self-esteem issues and wasn’t sure if Harry would choose her.

But when talking to the other female contestants, the FWAW contestant came across as though she wasn’t there for the right reasons.

However, people quickly came to her aid.

“She was clearly just protecting herself and saying it was in case she didn’t get picked,” one person commented on Instagram.

“I like her, and it’s obvious she doesn’t want to be hurt she’s actually being honest but doesn’t mean she’s not open to seeing where it could go – some just read her all wrong, [sic]” another explained.

“It’s not that she has wrong intentions; it’s that she has self-doubt,” a third said.

While others feared the producers were “really painting Gabs out to be a villain”.

One Twitter account admitted they knew her personally, and she was nothing like what the show portrayed so far.

“For the record, ‘pilot girl’ is an amazing, kind, generous and loving young woman who deserves all the love in the world. Don’t let this show tell you otherwise,” the fan claimed.

But his model-worthy good looks made some fans question whether there was “a catch”, as they couldn’t believe he would need to appear on the show just to find a date.

So, is Farmer Will just too good to be true?!
