Married at First Sight Australia‘s Sarah Roza has revealed the “terrifying experience” that saw her recently rushed to hospital.

Rumours recently suggested that the 2018 TV bride was MIA on social media due to jetting overseas to film The Challenge Australia. However, the 43-year-old has confessed that “contrary to many tabloid news reports”, this isn’t the case!

Taking to Instagram on August 8, Sarah said that she didn’t “secretly fly to Buenos Aires” for the new show.

“Instead of sipping on cocktails halfway across the world, I’ve been dosed up on meds & eating jelly cups at RMH [Royal Melbourne Hospital] in Parkville, Melbourne. [sic],” she penned.

Revealing that she is now back in the comfort of her own home, Sarah said she spent a week in an emergency surgical ward after experiencing “critical chest [and] abdominal pain”.

“I was rushed via ambulance with critical chest/abdominal pain; which was the most terrifying experience of my entire life!” she explained.

She then added that “tests revealed acute pancreatitis & gallstones.”

While “surgeons successfully removed” the reality star’s gallbladder, Sarah was required to stay at the hospital due to “further complications”.

According to Sarah, “words of gratitude will never be enough” for those who helped her while she was unwell.

“Thanks to all the wonderful surgeons, doctors, nurses, paramedics & auxiliary hospital staff for looking after me recently at the Royal Melbourne Hospital,” she wrote. “Words of gratitude will never be enough for these earth angels…”

Similarly, she thanked her followers for their “beautiful messages of concern”.

“So many of you sent me beautiful messages of concern realising that something was wrong,” she concluded. “Thank you, your heartfelt messages of love & sincere care are so very much appreciated.”

News of Sarah’s hospital visit comes after the Daily Mail Australia claimed that the MAFS star was spotted boarding a flight at Melbourne Airport on July 31. The reports spurred rumours that she was travelling to compete on The Challenge Australia.

It also follows speculation that she would replace fellow MAFS alum Jessika Power, who was booted from the show just days prior to filming.
