Married at First Sight Australia‘s Michael Brunelli has revealed why his fiancée Martha Kalifatidis has been MIA on social media after fans voiced growing concern.
The beloved couple — who met in the marriage experiment in 2019 — have been posting up a storm in recent weeks, documenting their jealousy-inducing trip across Europe.
However, their followers clocked that something was up after the 34-year-old influencer was unusually absent from the ‘gram.
Michael took to his Story on July 23 to clear up confusion, noting that his bae has been unwell for a matter of days.
“I just want to say a big thank you to everyone who has reached out and messaged us asking about Martha,” he wrote alongside a photo of himself holding her hand. “She’s been offline and unwell with a viral infection.
Adding that the illness has “taken a toll” on Martha, the personal trainer assured fans that “she’s okay and on the mend”.
Martha’s decline in health comes after fans speculated that the duo might elope while travelling the world.
Michael quickly shut down the rumours, however, not before confessing that they had “discussed” it.
“But I think we’d be hunted down by our parents and grandparents if we do that,” he admitted.
The fan-favourite pairing became engaged in December 2021.
