The Block 2021‘s Josh Packham has revealed he’ll be spending Christmas in isolation after testing positive to COVID on Tuesday.

The 27-year-old contracted the virus after attending a celebrity boxing match in Melbourne last Friday night, where his twin brother Luke faced off against The Bachelorette‘s Shannon Karaka.

The ‘Pretender to Contender: Whatever It Takes’ event also hosted a number of other reality stars, including Married at First Sight‘s Sam Carraro, who also competed.

In an Instagram video, The Block star told his 167,ooo followers that his diagnosis was of “no surprise”.

“I just got my results back and no surprises guys, I’m positive,” he said. “Obviously it sucks that I’m not spending Christmas with family and friends, but I do have my roommate isolating with me, so we’re doing it together.”

With hopes that he’ll be out and about by New Year’s eve, the reality star, who also won Love Island Australia in 2020, revealed he only had “a bit of a cough, bit of a head cold”.

However, he urged anyone who came into contact with him in Melbourne not to “muck around”.

“Obviously, I came in contact with a lot of friends while I was in Melbourne. So if you’re watching this, probably go get tested immediately, guys,” Josh said. “Don’t muck around with it.

“There was obviously a lot of people when I was in Melbourne coming up to say hi, which is completely fine. But yeah, you should probably go get tested straight away, if you’re watching this,” he continued.

He then said people should keep their distance “from people you’re not really close with” because “chances are you will catch [COVID]”.

“It’s running rampant through Sydney and Melbourne right now. If you want to spend Chrissy with your family, just do the right thing.”

What Else Happened At The Celebrity Boxing Match?

Josh’s COVID diagnosis isn’t the only thing to come out of Friday night’s boxing match.

Sam Carraro and his MAFS co-star-slash-rival Bryce Ruthven found themselves in quite the scuffle OUTSIDE the ring.

After taking out the title against Love Island‘s Todd Elton, Sam then challenged Bryce to a fight.

“In the house with the big f***ing nose! That would be Gonzo there would it? That would be big Gonzo wouldn’t it?” Sam taunted Bryce from the ring.

“Gonzo” is the nickname Sam gave Bryce during MAFS, referring to the size of his nose.

Sam, 34, then exited the ring before the pair erupted into a war of words.

In footage taken by MAFS alumni Nick Furphy, the pair were seen exchanging insults at one another before Bryce lunged at Sam, raising his arm at him.

Chatting to the So Dramatic! podcast, Sam revealed that Bryce had been heckling him during the match.

“As I was walking back to the change rooms, I was walking past where they were seated, [Bryce] got very animated, called me over,” Sam said. “Next minute, he’s out of his chair. He storms up, gets in my face, I push him away. Then he lunges at me.

“I’m not going to say a punch, but he definitely lunged at me.”

Sam later dubbed Bryce as “toxic”, while being the sole source of drama surrounding MAFS.

‘The one common denominator is who? Him,” he said. “He’s just the worst person and most embarrassing person ever come off reality TV.

“That’s a fact.”
