Abbie Chatfield and Konrad Bien-Stephens‘ blossoming relationship certainly seemed to overshadow Brooke Blurton’s happy ending on The Bachelorette Australia 2021, however, it seems that Abbie has been served a big dose of karma.
As reported in episode 127 of the So Dramatic! podcast, not only is Brooke Blurton unhappy about the situation but so is Network Ten!
According to a Network Ten insider, “everyone is furious at Abbie and have blacklisted her from any future opportunities with the network. Even [Bachelor franchise host] Osher Günsberg is unhappy with her!” If Osher is mad, then you know it’s not good!
Former The Bachelorette Australia star, Angie Kent’s Response
While she had already spoken out about it when the relationship first surfaced, Angie added another comment in her final recap for Yahoo Australia.
“Before I move on to the rest of the finale recap, let’s talk about the TALL, over the top order that I am sure Brooke did in fact not order right before her finale episodes,” she wrote.
“The relationship hard launch that maybe could have waited so that the attention wasn’t taken away from the first-ever woman of colour and pansexual Bachelorette. Cue our girl Abbie and her mate Konrad with a K.”
Angie then said: “Come on you two.”
“Announcing your spicy hot relationship THE DAY of your mate Brooke’s finale episodes was just a little bit can we say opportunistic?
“I love me some Abbie, don’t get this twisted, but she’s a very clever clogs when it comes to dropping it like it’s hot and creating an absolute media circus of sorts.”
Angie Kent Believed That Abbie Took Attention Away from the Main Focus — Brooke
Angie then put Abbie on blast, pointing out that she usually stayed mum when it comes to who she is dating. But on the day of her friend’s finale episode airing, she just “HARD launches the sh*t out of her brand-spankin’ new relationship.”
“Power move vibes right there,” she added. “I love a power move. But it wasn’t the day for it hey?”
The former Gogglebox star then said that she didn’t want to take away the love for either of the couples, however: “This was supposed to be about hyping the season up, bringing it back to its main focus – BROOKE.”
“This is the first season where it wasn’t supposed to be about white blonde girls. If we wanted headlines about white blonde girls and cisgender hot party boy types, well you can tune into any of the past seasons really. It’s a tale as old as time.”
“Brooke’s season wasn’t just about a woman falling in love. Brooke was there to create a platform for those who are not always represented in mainstream media.” AMEN SISTER!
What Have Other Bachelor Alum Said About the Whole Abbie/Brooke/Konrad Fiasco?
While Brooke said she was “all good” with Abbie now, we do know that she’s still not happy and not only that, she liked a very telling comment from one fan.
“I mean, she could have waited until Monday, surely?” the fan wrote.
The comment was also liked by The Bachelor Australia 2018 star Irina Srbinovska and Bachelor in Paradise 2020 (and Brooke’s bestie) Alisha Aitken-Radburn.
Then The Bachelor Australia 2019 queen (and former co-star of Abbie), Rachael Arahill stepped into the ring.
“Finallllly ppl are starting to wake up [sic],” she wrote. “I have always said… that girl cares about one person and one person only. She does not care who she hurts as long as she gets herself to the top. She’s literally said before “girl code doesn’t exist — it does but just not in her world.”
She then added: “I think shes cried editing so much, she even started to believe it. [sic]”
Ouch!
