During Thursday’s finale of The Bachelorette Australia 2021, we met Brooke Blurton’s besties, who were tasked with grilling finalists Darvid Garayeli and Jamie-Lee Dayz.
And while it was a bit of a shock to see Abbie Chatfield up there (considering she is now in a relationship with Konrad Bien-Stephens), she and Amy were actually Brooke’s second choice.
A So Dramatic! insider has revealed that mum and dad, a.k.a Alisha Aitken-Radburn and Glenn Smith, were supposed to be there with Brooke at the end!
Why did Abbie Chatfield and Amy Ended Up at The Bachelorette Australia Finale
According to our source, the global pandemic wreaked havoc on The Bachelorette Australia 2021 plans.
Since Alisha and Glenn live in Perth, they were unable to get to the finale.
In addition to this, Brooke’s fiery friend Amy was also a second choice. In fact, Brooke’s friend Gabrielle Ebsworth, who lives in Melbourne, was also meant to be in Sydney. At the time of filming, COVID restrictions made it difficult for her to attend.
Who Is Gabrielle Ebsworth, Brooke’s Best Friend?
Gabrielle is a proud Wangkumara/Barkindji woman and Aboriginal healthcare worker.
She is an Aboriginal hospital liaison officer at Royal Melbourne Hospital and an Indigenous Research & Engagement Officer with the Australian Stroke Alliance.
With an already impressive resume, Gabrielle moved to Melbourne to study Politics and Sociology but then switched to Neuroscience to pursue a career in public health. AH-MAZING!
No doubt she would have made an incredible asset to the finale episode.
What Happened Between Brooke and Abbie Chatfield Since Filming Wrapped?
While Abbie made a very convincing friend during the show, since filming wrapped, she and Brooke no longer seem to be on good terms.
Of course, everyone lost their sh*t at the sight of Abbie’s appearance on the show – mainly because some fans are a little dirty her for debuting her relationship with Brooke’s fourth-place beau before the series finished airing.
As it turns out, our Bachelorette isn’t happy about the timing of Abbie’s hard launch of Konrad either seeing as she no longer follows her pal on the ‘gram.
Prior to this, and as reported in episode 121 of the So Dramatic! podcast, we revealed Brooke’s sentiments via a close friend.
“Brooke is really upset,” a close friend of the 25-year-old revealed. “She couldn’t believe what she was seeing. She had no idea they even knew each other!”
