This may come as an absolute surprise to no one, however, Konrad Bien-Stephens has indeed lost his $5,000 bonus he was meant to receive for abiding by his The Bachelorette Australia 2021 contract after his PDA session with Abbie Chatfield surfaced.
While he didn’t explicitly drop the news himself, he did go pashing Abbie in a public bar, where it was all caught on video! And let’s just say, Network Ten are not happy about it.
According to a very reliable So Dramatic! source, Konrad not only lost the bonus — which is promised to contestants for keeping hush throughout the season — but also more opportunities with the network.
“Channel 10 had some very big plans for him,” the source told us. Eeep! We hope it’s worth it, Konrad!
In fact, as reported in episode 121 of the So Dramatic! podcast, host Megan Pustetto said that a contestant revealed that Konrad was the “producer’s favourite” and was being primed to be the next Bachelor!
“It’s The Konrad Show. He’s their golden boy. I have a feeling they are setting him up to be the next Bachelor,” they said before adding. “I think he knows that too because he wasn’t even subtle or trying to hide his romance with Abbie.“
What Have Konrad and Abbie Said About Their Relationship?
While doing the media rounds after his eventual elimination from The Bachelorette Australia 2021, Konrad officially confirmed their romance.
“Obviously it has been a bit of time since production ended with Brooke,” Konrad told 10play. “We didn’t work out but I really like Abbie. She’s an awesome girl and I’m excited for what the future holds.”
The tradie then revealed how he met the fellow Bachie alum to Marie Claire, saying their meet-cute was “totally random”.
Apparently, he was out for lunch with a friend in Byron, who Abbie also happened to know!
“While we were having lunch [my friend] got a message from Abbie saying ‘I’m in Byron, let’s catch up for a drink!’ So My friend was like, ‘let’s go down and meet her,’” Konrad detailed.
“We just hit it off straight away,” he admitted.
Then, on Wednesday, November 24, Abbie confirmed their relationship with a very lovey-dovey photo dump.
Taking to her Instagram account, the former Bachelor Australia star shared a photo dump of her new bae.
“Me: I’ll never talk about who I’m dating publicly. This mf: 🧍” Abbie captioned the cute AF post which featured a shirtless Konrad, a pic of the pair holding hands, a very cute selfie and an odd video of Abbie touching her bae’s head with her foot… Ugh.
Brooke Blurton Unfollowed Abbie Chatfield On Instagram
While both Konrad and Abbie are living in — albeit a $5k-less — honeymoon bliss, The Bachelorette Australia Brooke Blurton has unfollowed her former bestie, just hours before she is to appear as her BEST FRIEND in the finale.
Abbie’s appearance was teased in a preview for Thursday night’s episode. The promo showed the Bachie alum grilling Brooke’s top two, finalists Darvid Garayeli and Jamie-Lee Dayz.
Of course, everyone lost their sh*t at the sight of the 26-year-old on the show – mainly because some fans are a little dirty on the It’s A Lot podcast host for debuting her relationship with Brooke’s fourth-place beau before the series finished airing.
As it turns out, our Bachelorette isn’t happy about the timing of Abbie’s hard launch of Konrad either seeing as she no longer follows her pal on the ‘gram.
Prior to this, and as reported in episode 121 of the So Dramatic! podcast, we revealed Brooke’s sentiments via a close friend.
“Brooke is really upset,” a close friend of the 25-year-old revealed. “She couldn’t believe what she was seeing. She had no idea they even knew each other!”
Goodness me! What an absolute mess!
