Brooke Blurton’s history-making season of The Bachelorette Australia 2021 is set to commence on October 20. But it wouldn’t be a true Bachie season without someone who already has connections to the incestual reality TV world being cast on the show!
So Dramatic! can exclusively reveal another one of the lucky suitors vying for Brooke’s roses – and it’s none other than Bachelor alum Megan Marx’s ex and best friend Carissa Croft!
It appears Carissa forms quite a strong bond with Brooke during filming, as they are seen cuddling up during one scene of the recent promo.
The promo then flashes to Carissa looking worried before saying: “I’m not OK with this.”
Oooooh we sense some draaaaama!
Megan spoke about her relationship with Carissa in episode 42 and episode 47 of So Dramatic! Podcast with Megan Pustetto in January.
“I’m living with Carissa [on the Gold Coast] now – everyone probably sees her in all my stories,” she explained. “We met in Bali and had a fling. Now we’re best friends and live together.”
She added: “She is a psychologist and is working here on the Gold Coast and we’re just really good friends now.”
Megan and Carissa no longer live together but remain really good friends.
“Carissa and I on a soul-level were always meant to meet,” Megan said of their friendship. “She makes me feel understood and good and excited about life. We share that.”
Megan also told So Dramatic! that she was originally supposed to be cast as the lead on The Bachelorette and was going to have men and women suitors vying for her roses. However, she was unfortunately ditched at the eleventh hour for Sophie Monk! Imagine how hilarious it would have been if Carissa was cast on that season!
Who is Megan Marx?
Megan was the first Australian Bachelor contestant to publicly identify as bisexual. She made Bachelor history again when she sensationally walked out on Richie Strahan in 2016.
Not long after the show wrapped, Megan shocked fans when she announced she was in a relationship with her co-star Tiffiny Scanlon.
Their relationship was groundbreaking for The Bachelor franchise at the time, even making international headlines. In what was being described as a “world-first” – the first time, that two Bachelor co-stars had started dating – Megan and Tiffiny dated for over a year.
After becoming LGBTQI icons, they decided to part ways in 2017 in news that, again, shocked fans.
In 2018, Megan then went on to star in Bachelor in Paradise, where she met her now-former boyfriend Jake Ellis.
They have been on and off ever since meeting in Fiji, however, sadly decided to part ways in November last year.
Who Are Brooke Blurton’s Bachelorette Suitors?
Start organising your office pool and place your bets on who is going to ultimately win Brooke’s heart, because good Lord, are they a good-looking bunch of contestants.
So Dramatic! has already identified Olympic swimmer Kurt Herzog to be one of Brooke’s suitors.
One familiar face you might remember is that of Bachelor alum Jaimie-Lee Dayz. Not only is she a former Bachelor contestant, but she was actually an intruder on Nick Cummins ‘the Honey Badger’s‘ season in 2018 – the same season as Brooke!
It was rumoured that the pair struck up a romance in the mansion at the time. However, the pair have denied anything of the sort.
What Do We Know About The Bachelorette 2021?
In a brand new teaser trailer, Channel Ten unveiled that October 20 is the official start date for Brooke’s history-making journey, so not long to go… Yasss!
Fans of the Bachie franchise will remember when she publicly came out as bisexual during Nick’s season. Brooke, a proud Noongar-Yamatji woman, will also be the first Indigenous lead in the reality dating show’s history.
And if the recent promo for The Bachelorette 2021 is anything to go by, it looks like there is going to be drama aplenty!
Sh*t appears to go down when the youth worker’s suitors shy away from a relationship with the Bachelorette. Instead, they appear to hook up with each other!!
