The Bachelor Australia’s Laura O’Loughlin has made an enormous claim that the show’s producers “forgot” to tell her about a death in her family during production.

During the 2021 season, we saw Brooke Cleal leave the show due to her grandfather’s death. While it was absolutely devastating, she actually wasn’t the only one to lose a family member during the time — but she was the only one to be notified by The Bachelor producers.

In episode 107 of the So Dramatic! Podcast with Megan Pustetto, Laura revealed that her cousin had passed away while they were filming.

“I had a family death, and it was shortly after Brooke’s family death and I knew it was coming,” she told host Megan Pustetto. “It was someone who was quite sick, very young — my younger cousin.

Although Laura had “accepted it”, it was still “obviously very sad.”

During the group date where the girls’ mums came to visit, Laura’s mum Maria updated her on her cousin’s condition, however, it wasn’t until after they were separated, her mum got her phone back and had been notified he had passed away.

“She wanted to come back and tell me and was told that I’d already left,” she said. “I hadn’t left, by the way. I found all this out later. She asked production, ‘look, she knows about this’ and asked then to let Laura know.

“So she left that with them.”

According to Laura, six days passed and no one had told her.

“I happened to have my fortnightly phone call with my family six days later and I spoke to my mum and we were just chatting and chatting, and she’s updating me on my dog, my house, whatever.

“Right at the end of the conversation, I asked how my cousin was doing and she went, ‘oh my God’,” she said, before adding: “My mum was mortified. She was like, ‘what do you mean? Did no one tell you?’ Like, she was so angry.”

Laura then approached the producers who said: “Maybe your mum was in shock and forgot to tell us.” WTAF!!!

“Initially they acted like they were really shocked,” she said. “They followed up with all the production team and they were like, “yeah, no one recollects that conversation. So maybe your mum was in shock.”

This is simply NUTS!
