The Married at First Sight Australia experts matched 2025 bride Awhina Rutene with not one but two accused domestic violence perpetrators.

ICYMI: During Final Test Week, the cast were given the chance to go on a date with their backup matches.
The opportunity was eye-opening for Awhina, as her backup groom, Tim King, seemed like the polar opposite of her problematic husband, Adrian Araouzou.
Tim seemed genuinely interested in Awhina’s life and asked her many questions about her son, leading fans to believe he was a much better match for her.
However, Tim’s portrayal as a “nice guy” couldn’t be any further from the truth.

As revealed in episode 529 of the So Dramatic! podcast, Tim has been charged with alleged domestic violence on two separate occasions against two former partners.
Awhina’s TV husband, Adrian, also faced three charges of alleged domestic abuse before his stint on reality TV, including assault occasioning actual bodily harm, domestic violence, common assault and resisting police.
