Lauren Dunn has shared her thoughts on Married at First Sight Australia 2025’s “appalling” Photo Ranking task, and she did NOT hold back.
A challenge as old as time (or rather, 12 seasons), and the MAFS 2025 cast was tasked with ranking the participants of the opposite sex from least to most desirable — in their personal opinions.
This always causes drama, and this year was no different, with many viewers taking issue with the “appalling” comments made by 30-year-old teacher Jake Luik.
Yep, Tim Gromie isn’t the only teacher on the show who seemed to forget he was on camera!!!
During the task, Jake made a bunch of icky criticisms. These included things like claiming one bride had “crazy eyes” while another appeared as though she “could stab you in your sleep”.
However, it was his commentary surrounding Māori participant Awhina Rutene that really rubbed people up the wrong way.
“I’m no racist or nothing… I like Caucasians mainly, mostly,” he started. Sigh…

In the second recap episode of So Dramatic!‘s spin-off podcast, MAFS Afterparty with Lauren Dunn, the former TV bride called out Jake’s “heinous” commentary. As she should!
She then revealed some piping hot behind-the-scenes tea about Jake’s wife, Ashleigh Ackerman. Particularly how she was permitted to sneak over to Sierah Swepstone‘s apartment to relay what Jake said when it’s explicitly stipulated that participants cannot visit each other’s apartments outside of filming hours.
Lauren also dished that one of Tim’s “petite blonde” former suitors had slipped into her DMs with some very damning intel about the groom.
Safe to say it’s not just Katie Johnson who copped the raw end of his shady behaviour!
