Married at First Sight Australia 2025‘s Tim Gromie‘s groomsman, Luke Stapleton, has revealed all about his mate’s chaotic wedding day and his awful treatment of his bride, Katie Johnson.
Despite primary school teacher Tim claiming to have an “open mind” ahead of marrying a stranger, it was glaringly obvious that he was, well, less than thrilled to see Katie walking down the aisle.
And that’s putting it mildly!
“I just haven’t got that initial spark,” he told the camera after their nuptials. Then, he went off at a producer, claiming they had “set him up”.
“What the f*ck. It’s just totally not what I wanted. I normally go for short, petite, blonde or brunette,” the 38-year-old added. “Katie’s nothing what I normally go for… I’m a bit embarrassed that I’ve come here now. I don’t want to be here.”
Tim and Katie’s MAFS honeymoon was no better. The 37-year-old CEO was perpetually in tears as her new husband constantly expressed how much he wasn’t into her.
Now, Tim’s best man — and, as of recently, former bestie — Luke has revealed all about the groom and his icky behaviour.

As revealed in episode 446 of the So Dramatic! podcast, Luke had a LOT to say about Tim’s appearance on MAFS, including whether or not the groom was a victim of “the edit”.
“Yes, things were cut-and-paste,” Luke said, referring to producers’ penchant for franken-editing.
“But what was said, was said, and it was said in the context he delivered it.” YIKES.
In his tell-all with So Dramatic! host Megan Pustetto (episode 446), Luke — who was “gobsmacked” at his buddy’s behaviour —pulled the curtain back on what viewers didn’t see at Tim and Katie’s wedding.
