Married at First Sight Australia expert John Aiken has revealed why several familiar faces were cast for the 2025 season.
The upcoming series of the marriage experiment will feature many seasoned reality stars, including The Bachelor‘s Sierah Swepstone, Big Brother‘s Teekay Halkias and The Real Love Boat‘s Paul Antoine, plus a bunch of actors who we’ve quite frankly never heard of.

During Nine’s Upfronts on October 24, John explained why the show cast people who seemed to be looking for fame, not love.
“Ultimately, we were looking for people who want love and can cope with the scrutiny of the cameras and the media,” he told Daily Mail.

The 54-year-old justified that the new cast’s TV experience didn’t necessarily mean they weren’t looking for The One.
“They’re all looking for love and doing things wrong in the dating games. They come on our show, and we try to give them a chance.” Fair enough!
It comes after a production insider called the MAFS 2025 cast “fame-hungry,” claiming their “egos” were “disproportionate to their talent.”
