Radio shock jock Kyle Sandilands has (kinda) issued an apology to reality TV juggernaut Abbie Chatfield for the sl*t-shaming comments he made about her nearly two years ago.
In December 2022, Abbie slammed Kyle and former The Bachelor star Brittany Hockley for problematic comments they made about her during an interview with Yung Gravy.
During the chat, the rapper joked that he and Abbie had a blossoming romance.
“You and everyone else,” Kyle sniped, while Brittany added, “I have no doubt”.

Close to two years on, Abbie’s now-boyfriend Adam Hyde — who also goes by the stage name Keli Holiday for his solo musical projects — appeared on The Kyle and Jackie O Show on October 16.
It was during this chat that Kyle’s beef with Abbie arose. The radio star danced around the fact that he said some pretty vile things.
“I don’t think she’s a fan of mine, which — there’s been some sort of error,” the Australian Idol judge began.
“There’s been confusion, there’s been misunderstanding. ‘Cos I rated her when she was at over at the other joint doing the radio, I was like, ‘This is a bad-ass b*tch’.”
Adam Hyde implores Kyle Sandilands to apologise to Abbie Chatfield
After Kyle briefly recounted what went down with Abbie, his co-host Jackie O Henderson suggested they get Abbie on the phone, to which Adam agreed.
“An apology would help,” he pointedly said to Kyle.

Once she was on the air, Abbie made it known that she was still unimpressed by the jabs made at her expense.
“I didn’t think you didn’t like me, Kyle. I’m not sure what you really think about me, but I just didn’t like the way you and Brittany spoke about me in a kind of sl*t shaming way,” she said.
Kyle responded, saying he would “never shame a sl*t ever”. Sigh.
The FBOY Island Australia host continued: “I think you just say things all the time, Kyle. And it has damaging effects on the people listening. I think that’s the issue.”
Kyle explained that his words weren’t meant to be hurtful, which Abbie acknowledged, but explained there was “a huge implication of sl*t-shaming” during the interview.
“If you intended a different way, that’s fine, Kyle, but the whole conversation around it with you and Britt made me really upset and really uncomfortable,” she said.
The 29-year-old added that Yung Gravy messaged her saying that his The Kyle and Jackie O Show interview was “really weird” and “uncomfortable.”
What did Kyle Sandilands say in his apology to Abbie Chatfield?
Kyle went on to accuse Abbie of carrying on about the incident on her podcast, It’s A Lot.
However, Abbie hit back, saying it was a teachable moment.
“I spoke about it because my fear is that people listening will start to speak about other women that way and not understand why that’s wrong,” The Bachelor 2019 breakout star said.

It was then that Kyle offered up a half-ass apology.
“I’m sorry that if my harsh words implied that you were — sl*t-shaming — but nevertheless, regardless of whether I meant it or didn’t or didn’t say it your way or whatever, if it’s offended you, I’m sorry,” Kyle said.
Abbie then thanked him.
Abbie Chatfield calls her boyfriend Adam Hyde an ‘icon’ for facilitating Kyle’s apology
After the chat, Abbie took to her Instagram Story to call her boyfriend, Adam, an “icon” for facilitating the apology.
“[Adam] just got Kyle to (kind of ) apologise for the sl*ut-shaming thing on air,” she penned. “But I was weeing when I answered the call.
“Adam is an icon nonetheless.”

And cheers to that!
