In August, Lauren took to Instagram to share that she was “subjected to years of nothing short of sheer terror” at the hands of a former partner.

“Multiple broken ribs, black eyes, bloodied lips, blood-shot eyes from being strangled until I was unconscious,” she detailed at the time.

She later condemned a group of “washed up” former AFL players in a pointed Instagram story for “making light” of her experience.

Now, the 32-year-old has revealed her partnership with Polished Man, a not-for-profit organisation that works to end violence against women and children.

“My Painted Promise is to provide a safe space for women to talk about their experiences and support them in their healing journey,” Lauren announced in a collaboration post with the charity.

“I’ll use my platform to speak about domestic violence, letting women know that they are not alone.

“My goal is to create a community of understanding kindness for victims of domestic abuse.”

What is Polished Man and its ‘Painted Promise’ campaign?

Per the Polished Man website, the charity “is a powerful movement dedicated to ending violence against women and children”.

“Our mission is simple yet profound: we ask people to sign up and paint one nail blue—or any colour they choose—to stand in solidarity and ignite crucial conversations about this critical issue,” it reads.

“While blue is our signature colour, the spectrum of colours chosen by our supporters symbolizes the vibrant, diverse commitment to our cause.

“Each painted nail is a beacon of hope and a conversation starter, prompting the question, ‘What’s with the painted nail?’ This opens the door to discussing our mission and spreading awareness.”

Lauren isn’t the only Australian reality star who has rocked a blue nail.

Married at First Sight 2022‘s Anthony Cincotta and 2021 groom Liam Cooper are also ambassadors for the cause, as is Gogglebox Australia‘s Isabelle Silbery.
