Channel Seven has hit back at claims that Guy Sebastian is a “total diva” on the set of The Voice Australia.

ICYMI: reports emerged in September that Guy, who rose to stardom after winning the inaugural season of Australian Idol in 2003, has got quite the ego and become “more demanding” as the years go by.

“It happens when you have been in those chairs for too long, which is why The Voice has the highest turnover of coaches than any other singing competition in the world,” an insider told Daily Mail Australia.

“You can get irritable on those long days and, I assure you, the novelty does wear off.”

However, a spokesperson from Channel Seven, the network behind The Voice, has said the allegations are total BS.

“The claims made by unnamed sources in the Daily Mail in relation to Guy Sebastian and The Voice are complete rubbish,” they told Yahoo Lifestyle.

Industry insider defends Guy Sebastian against The Voice ‘diva’ claims

An industry insider also defended Guy, telling the outlet that the singer is “widely respected”.

“Guy is one of the longest-standing judges on the voice because he’s the opposite of a diva,” they expressed. “He works hard, appreciates the opportunities he has and is respected across the media as a whole.”

As for Guy being “demanding”, the source said he’s no different to anybody else filming a TV show.

“All talent have riders and requests when filming TV shows, but Guy’s are rarely anything beyond requesting scheduling updates so he can keep recording music alongside filming or asking for extra lollies when his boys join him on set,” they revealed.

The clearing up of the allegations comes after The Voice 2024 coacheseye-watering salaries were leaked.
