A Farmer Wants a Wife Australia contestant has slammed producers and exposed the brutal reality of filming the 2024 season of the hit reality show.

As reported by So Dramatic!, multiple FWAW contestants were IGNORED after emailing the show’s production company with complaints of “bullying” and “emotional abuse” on set.

The dating show was also exposed for withholding contestants’ pay until the series had finished airing, leaving many “broke”.

As revealed in episode 393 of the So Dramatic! podcast, another cast mate has shared their negative experience with the producers before spilling some MAJOR tea about the show.

Farmer Wants a Wife 2024 star exposes ‘TOXIC’ behind-the-scenes antics

The contestant told So Dramatic! that they believed the “bullying” from producers came from “a lot higher up”.

“Some of the farm producers create drama out of nothing,” they dished. “But from what I could understand, they were really just doing what they were told by the executives. They are definitely the toxic ones, no doubt about it!”

The castmate explained that for most of the producers, it was their first time working on FWAW.

“From what I’ve heard, farm producers never do a second season because it’s hell,” she spilled.

“Most of the camera and sound crew on the farms have done over 10 seasons. They knew a lot more than the farm producers. They knew what specific shots needed to happen and could give girls tips on what to do,” she added.

“My experience with every camera and sound person was that they were genuinely the most amazing people. They truly cared, which was refreshing!” And at least someone was in the girls’ corner!

Farmer Wants a Wife producers choose what contestants wear

The contestant also spilled that the show’s producers told the ladies “what to wear”.

“I pushed back a few times and got told I needed to dress to impress and that I’d regret not doing it because it was better to be overdressed than underdressed,” she explained.

The reality star said the producers wanted to portray her as a “diva from the city” so they wouldn’t “take no for an answer” when she tried to “push back” and wear the clothing she wanted.

“They chose our outfits every day. When we tried to push back, they said we had to wear [what they chose], no matter how hard we tried to fight. It was ridiculous.”

Farmer Wants a Wife producers FORCE contestants to wear HEELS whilst doing farm work

The contestant then exposed producers for forcing her to wear heels whilst on the farm.

“They made me wear heels in the cattle yard, which is ridiculous. And my shoes got damaged,” she said.

“I sent an email to the production company, saying they broke the contract that said we had to wear enclosed footwear at all times on the farm, per the NSW workplace health and safety legislation, and WorkSafe guidelines for farm work.”

While she never received an email response, one of the heads of production called her, “apologised profusely,” and offered to reimburse her.

“They never responded in writing because they were clearly at fault and had broken the contract and their duty of care,” she added.

“For me, it was never about the shoes. It was about the principal of them using bullying tactics to scare girls and going against their contract for the sake of a sh*tty storyline.”

Farmer Wants a Wife star says NOBODY on set cared about the mental health of the cast

Our source also revealed that she suffered from extreme anxiety as a result of filming, and production allegedly didn’t care.

“Not one person in charge cared about your mental health,” she said. “I had a full-blown panic attack, the worst one I’ve ever had in my life, and they tried to film me.

“I said: ‘You cannot film this because it’s a medical episode, and I have a diagnosed anxiety disorder that you were fully aware of before the show, and I take medication daily for it’.”

However, her producer said they were going to film it anyway, stating it was up to the legal team to determine whether she was having a “real anxiety attack or not”.

After she left the farm, the contestant told the show’s psychologist what’d happened on set.

“The psychologist said they couldn’t film me, and it was disgraceful. She also said it wasn’t okay for the producers to [determine] whether I was having a real anxiety attack.

“She took note and made sure that they didn’t use any of the footage if they got any,” she added.

And so much for a wholesome dating show!
