Lucinda Light has revealed heartbreaking details about her life before her stint on Married at First Sight Australia 2024.
With over 641,000 Instagram followers at the time of writing and a crop of post-show opportunities at her fingertips, the fan-favourite bride has been one of the most successful cast members this year.
However, it hasn’t always been this way for the self-proclaimed “earth-mama”.

On May 31, Lucinda took to Instagram to give her followers a candid glimpse into her not-so-glamorous life before MAFS, including financial struggles.
“Last year, I was officially broke for the first time in my adult life and had to borrow money, which didn’t feel good,” she wrote in the caption. “It was incredibly stressful, and getting ready for MAFS pushed me to my limit.
“There were many reasons for this: living in expensive Byron, dealing with Covid restrictions as an events person, managing the aftermath and health demands of a breakdown, the Northern Rivers floods, and preparing for MAFS.
“I had to dig deep, sell my beloved van and ask friends/designers for help.”
Lucinda Light thanks her friends for providing her with ‘FABULOUS’ outfits during her time on Married at First Sight 2024
The 43-year-old also praised her “talented friends and designers” who provided her with her “fabulous” wardrobe during her time on the show before thanking them all individually.
“I love you all. Your generous hearts helped me get organised for the show,” she added. “Your flair and fabulousness made all the difference.
“So much love and gratitude to creators, small business owners, and the kind-hearted souls among us. Wishing each of you a huge amount of success! Thank you.”
