Farmer Wants a Wife Australia 2024‘s Farmer Bert has addressed rumours that he’s “not a real farmer”, and we’re living for his response!
After this year’s leading men debuted, fans took to social media to question whether fourth-generation pineapple and dragon fruit farmer Bert was *actually* a farmer.

Under a video of Bert on the show’s official Facebook page, one fan wrote: “A farmer to me has sheep, cattle, wheat.
“Work[s] from dawn to dusk, shearing, droving, marking sheep, drenching, ploughing, harvesting. Thousands of acres…..that’s my farmer, not someone who grows pineapples.”
Another user asked if Bert “own[s] the farm or just work[s] on it,” while a third person questioned whether any of the farmers “have a farm in their name”. Yikes.
How did Farmer Wants a Wife’s Bert respond to claims he wasn’t a ‘real’ farmer?
During an interview with Yahoo! Lifestyle, Bert exclaimed: “Apparently, I’m not a real farmer!”
“Actually, you’re not!” Farmer Dustin responded.
“Yeah, I’m not a real farmer,” Bert laughed.
“A pineapple farmer isn’t a farmer, I suppose,” Dustin chimed in, to which Bert said: “That doesn’t count as a farm.”
“Gotta have sheep, cows, and tractors… you’ve got tractors?” Dustin added.
When Bert confirmed that he did have tractors, Dustin joked: “But nah, you don’t count”. LOL!
The pineapple farmer then spilled that, like fans, people from his town also questioned whether he was a real farmer!
“[At] the local bakery, someone said that I wasn’t a real farmer because they’d never seen me in the bakery before,” Bert said.
“So I can’t tell if they don’t have good meat pies or if I’m just not a farmer!”
“I’d say the pies, definitely,” Dustin laughed. And this year’s farmers seem like such a vibe!
EXPLOSIVE claims that Farmer Joe ISN’T a real farmer
Bert isn’t the only farmer whose legitimacy has been questioned over his legitimacy. Sources previously told So Dramatic! that Farmer Joe isn’t a real farmer either!
According to Joe’s ex, he works in the mines as a fly-in-fly-out worker between being a farmer.

“He lives on acreage, but there’s not an operational farm,” she explained. “He’s working in the mines to put money away to live his dream of being a farmer later on.”
