We know the truth behind the rumours that Married at First Sight Australia 2024‘s Lucinda Light will be returning to the show as an expert, and this tea is hot!

Sadly, Lucinda and Timothy Smith left the current season of the marriage experiment after failing to keep their spark alive.

Whilst fans have called for the fan-favourite bride to become the next Bachelorette, it seems Channel Nine may have different plans for her, with rumours circling that she’ll be returning to MAFS as an expert!

Per Yahoo! Lifestyle, the marriage celebrant has been offered the expert role on MAFS New Zealand.

“Her role on the overseas franchise won’t be officially announced until after Easter, but an offer has been put on the table,” one source told the outlet.

Channel Nine were hoping to keep this under wraps until after the season finishes as they prefer to keep the contestants as real and relatable as possible,” they added.

“However, no one’s more happy for Lucinda than the creators of MAFS. She deserves this.”

MAFS‘ Lucinda hasn’t received an offer to become a future expert

However, things may not be as they seem because sources have told So Dramatic! that Channel Nine was behind the rumours, and there isn’t an offer on the table just yet.

“Channel Nine put the story out for feelers, but she hasn’t had any offers from them that I know of since yesterday,” the source close to Lucinda dished. Interesting…

What would Lucinda’s addition to the panel mean for the other MAFS experts?

According to Yahoo! Lifestyle, Lucinda joining the panel would mean nothing for the other experts, despite rumours that Mel Schilling would be leaving the show at the end of the 2024 season.

“There have been rumours that Mel could be ending her role as Relationship Expert… but that isn’t true,” an insider told the outlet.

Mel is contracted to the Channel Nine show for another year at least. While she has had some health issues, she is getting through this.

“If Lucinda proves herself in New Zealand, I think all of the current experts should be worried,” the source joked.

And at this rate, we reckon she could school the contestants on her own!
