If there’s one thing to be said about Australian Survivor 2024 fans, it’s that they have a seriously keen eye for editing fails!
The newest season has hit the small screen with the theme of Titans V Rebels, but the epic castaways aren’t immune to crazy editing room faux pas.
Garrick’s changing beard length in Australian Survivor 2024
Just a few episodes into the 2024 competition, one eagle-eyed viewer spied a serious continuity issue.
“Who noticed Garrick‘s day 20-odd beard on day seven?” they wrote in an Australian Survivor fan group on Facebook.
Sharing two screenshots side by side, the user said the scene was “severely frankenbit” — AKA the editing tactic used to fabricate sentences using phrasing from different parts of the show.
“The image on the left is where he and Feras are discussing the likelihood that someone threw the challenge,” they explained. “Garrick’s voice can be heard over the top of the footage saying, ‘In my job, I’m trained to smell a rat’.”
They added: “Then it cuts to him in the bearded confessional (image on the right) and all it literally shows him saying is ‘the cuddling alliance, then cuts back to the footage of [him] and Feras on the left’.”
The viewer concluded by saying the editing made it sound like one “continuous” sentence when that wasn’t the case.
