Married at First Sight Australia 2024‘s Lucinda Light has raised questions about whether she’s an actor and if “Lucinda Light” is actually her real name.
From bird wings to poems about her future husband’s erections, 43-year-old Lucinda is definitely one of the more, er, out-there participants the experiment has seen.
So, is her eccentric persona genuine or all an act for some TV fame?

According to Yahoo! Lifestyle, Lucinda Light is a “stage name” the bride started going by professionally five years ago.
The wedding celebrant’s government name is Lucinda Reilly, but she officially registered “Lucinda Light” as a brand and business on the Australian Business Register in 2019.
The outlet also came across a resurfaced LinkedIn post from 2022 — three years after Lucinda started working as a celebrant and event host — in which she asked for advice on how to improve her resume.
“I am looking for incredible roles as an MC or TV presenter and would appreciate your support,” she wrote at the time.
As recently as a year ago, Lucinda also worked at Byron Bay’s burlesque establishment Secret Cabaret Society as the “Madam of the House”.
There, she performed as part of an immersive restaurant experience.

‘Whispers’ arise about Lucinda Light’s intentions on Married at First Sight
A MAFS insider also told Yahoo! Lifestyle that the cast was a bit suss about whether Lucinda was on the show for the right reasons.
“Lucinda is as quirky and positive as she comes across and great talent,” they said. However, “there were some whispers amongst the cast about her intentions as she was there under a stage name rather than her real name.”

A contestant also told So Dramatic! that they always felt that her name “seemed made up”.
And yep, they were on the money!
