Brands have vowed to not work with Love Island Australia 2019‘s Isabelle Green after her controversial take on sun safety.

ICYMI: The mother-of-one recently flaunted her “natural tan” on social media, expressing that she doesn’t “believe the sun rays are harmful” and that “sunscreen is way more toxic”.

Her “irresponsible” comments copped backlash en masse, and further prompted some critics to question the brands Isabelle appeared to collaborate with.

These included fashion brand Petal and Pup, as well as Moana Bikini, which the reality star sported in her contentious post.

What response did the brands Isabelle Green is working with have?

Taking to the So Dramatic! Communi-TEA Facebook group, one user shared the responses they received from the labels when they were contacted about Isabelle’s sentiments.

“Thank you so much for reaching out! We have been notified of [Isabelle’s] recent post and the team has taken action,” a rep for Moana Bikini wrote.

When asked whether they’ll continue to work with her, they said their “team has made the decision not to be working with Isabelle in the future”.

However, another user who commented in the Facebook group had a different response, which they said was “unprofessional” after they raised the issue on a recent Moana Bikini Instagram post.

“We think we need to go for a walk or start a new hobby is trying to start drama on a business page is how you spend your time on planet earth [sic].”

What did Petal and Pup say about Love Island star Isabelle Green’s post?

Meanwhile, Petal and Pup took a firm stance against Isabelle’s post.

“We want to make it clear that this post does not align with our values,” they wrote. “We believe in fostering an inclusive and diverse community and actively collaborating with people from all backgrounds, including transgender and non-binary individuals.

“Our team takes these matters seriously, and it is our policy to discontinue relationships with influencers that do not align with those values.”

The brand said they are “currently… not pursuing a paid endorsement” with Isabelle. As such, “any future tags are not sponsored”.

Isabelle’s take on sun safety isn’t the first time she’s sparked controversy online.

In early 2023, she was hotly criticised for her views on transgender individuals, whom she claimed were part of a “pedophilia loophole”.
