Love Island Australia 2019‘s Isabelle Green has doubled down on her transphobic comments, in which she said being transgender is a “mental illness”.

**TRIGGER WARNING: The following discusses hate speech, including transphobia and pedophilia, and may be distressing to some readers.

The mum-of-one took to Instagram on January 13 with a since-deleted post, questioning “wtf happened to our generation?”

“This whole trans[gender] thing, nope not for me. It’s got to stop — it’s called mental illness. Kkk [sic] bye.”

When So Dramatic! contacted the reality star for comment on what fans have called “transphobic” sentiments, Isabelle provided a lengthy statement.

As we don’t wish to misrepresent her response in any way, we have chosen to publish her statement in full.

Isabelle Grace’s statement addressing ‘transphobic’ comments

“Yes I definitely do have a comment:

“When referring to ‘mental illness’ there’s a dangerous loophole pedophiles are using to transition, use a new identity & then come back into society as this new person to then re-offend, rape & molest children because they cannot be tracked.

“It’s a whole movement and it’s very dangerous for children.

“There’s also trans-child & furies [sic] which are generally adult males who have decided they’re now a ‘child’ and/or ‘animal’ & have been allowed to play with small children, use their amenities etc & there’s been many cases of these children then being abused.

“Even though these grown adults have decided to identify as something else they still have the hormones of an adult which means they have sexual tendencies, whereas children have not developed these tendencies as they haven’t even hit puberty so people need to understand this is a “mental illness” & it’s putting children at risk.

“Pedophilia is one of the most prominent issues in society & the trans loophole is being used to abuse children. As a mother it’s highly disturbing & I know many parents feel the same.

“Do I hate or dislike trans people? No not at all, they can do whatever they like to their body, it’s got nothing to do with me.

“When it affects my child or their safety, then yes I will voice my opinion.

“Child sex offenders should not be allowed to transition, period. Because they are 100% suffering from a mental illness. And we should at all costs be protecting the safety of our children.

“We live in a society where you say one thing against a popular opinion that’s trending & suddenly you apparently hate everyone. People need to realise there’s multiple sides & facets to everything.”

What was Isabelle Green’s original post?

The reality star took to the social media app on January 13 to reshare a meme that read: “Your ancestors who were bombed in trenches watching you have a panic attack when you forget your cherry vape at home.”

As if using veterans’ experiences for laughs wasn’t gross enough, she followed it up with her gross comments.

“No offence… but wtf happened to our generation?!!” she penned.

“This whole trans[gender] thing, nope not for me. It’s got to stop — it’s called mental illness. Kkk [sic] bye.”

Not only does Isabelle’s post contribute to stigmatisation and spreading of misinformation about the transgender community, but it also invalidates individuals’ who feel their assigned sex does not align with the gender they identify with.

Fans slam Isabelle Green’s comments

Taking to So Dramatic!‘s COMMUNI-TEA Facebook group, users slammed Isabelle’s comments.

“What the f*ck!!!!!” one penned, adding: “Hopefully enough people saw this that she’ll be shamed into crawling back into the whole from whence she came [sic].”

Another said it was “a horrible thing to think let alone actually post.”

“What an odd thing to say,” a third commented.

A fourth said that she was “indoctrinated by Sky News“, a news outlet that’s considered to have a conservative, right-wing bias.

The user was backed up by another who said Isabelle was “a transphobe.”
